Mango chutney fish tacos and a cold red brew in my blackened tape residued hands after a successful mission in Tuolumne is one of life's finer moments. Praise be to The Mobile. Hail hail.

Premium for gas but the food is an excellent value for what you get.

Just remember-- Lee Vining is right in the "middle of nowhere"... so expect to pay for being there, too.

I only get there every couple of years, and it's usually after a fun day out. I'm gonna pay about the same for that caliber of food in the city but I get to look at Mono Lake as the sun goes down for free.

Go ahead and mock us, that is if you're having as much fun as we were when this was taken :)
Just a couple of crazy kids each with grown kids of their own, drawn together along with other friends, spur of the moment, around the granfalloon of the Mobil. I was nearly drowned a couple of hours before, so thought a clean shirt was in order. Lynne, just always looks that good!
Oh Werner, (below) you tease!

Cliche hangout, the "in people" club, I totally avoid that place.
There's a way better place across the street deep in the sage brush ....

sometimes those mango fish tacos and some live music just sound a bit more appealing than basic camp glop.

Ah but Werner-the "in people's" idea of trash is another man treasure-going to be some serious dumpster diving this season. Are you certified?

i went into the chevron up the street thinkin it was the famous whoa deli,
there sits a hot lamp over some 3 day old pizza slices,
i'm startin to think the place is over hyped,
but i made it into the right place and had food with all the right people,
clean people, important people, outstanding people, above average people, tired people, people who you get stuck behind on the way up the hill,

what, you don't like the e-coli lettuce in the steak cesear?
it was the high elevation creating internal pressure,
not the food,

so the guy who burned up, is he ok now?
gas was cheaper than the chevron but i could not get the bugs off the car due to a seemingly lackluster approach to windshield water, wtf, over?
i drop 20 bucks for food and 40 for gas but they can't spring for $0.02 worth of soap, jus sayin,

the food at that mobile station is over rated and expensive.
also, that station is an example of development on the outskirts that ultimately should be avoided to preserve the fabric of our towns

it is nice to see a place like the deli when most towns like that have nuthin to offer but fat chicks and meth heads,
i mean you won't see a place like that in yucca valley,
just a cornacopia of bad fruit,
