Oh! For shame Tarbaby! I was strictly talking about her software, not her soft parts. That sweet wife of yours is gonna give you a spanking if she knows what you've been thinking. Of course, some people will pay extra for that.

Anyway, to the topic branch closer at hand: Hangman's was more or less a solo as a lead, got a snap of VonBoge leading it somewhere in a pile. Sympathy got bolted by the mod squad too I hear. It went just fine on nuts, though the one funky pin was always loose anytime it got tested. One Step Beyond not only got bolted, but re-named and up-rated from 10c to 11a.

Here, one gorge shot for Mr. Vawtoe:

And a rare sighting of cave hippies:

Descent from a classic cave hippie micro dwelling:

Pffft, the neat thing about a time machine is that it makes terms like "yet" obsolete: you've been here all along

Yup Roy, that's GK, last seen here a few pages back as the guy playing air guitar on his ice axe with a dinosaur strapped to his head.

i beleive it bears mentionng here that GK was climbing B1/5.12 in late '75, before anyone in san diego was willing to hazard the grade. his eliminate problems on the pink boulder, the direct east face on trash rock, and shite he did in middle earth, always were, and still are, mutherfukkin hard. i've gone back and done some a that shite in the last 3 or four years. V4 and V5 fer sure.

too bad he's fat, bald, and snowboarding now.......

Route renaming, rebolting, homogenization for the masses. There was a lot of good work too: the trail work was thankless toil that improved the stability of the slope and access. And some good new routes were found. But that guy has removed himself from public view, and review. It's a done thing. The things we lost, we mourned and let go. Like some of the faces on this thread.

But if you guys ever get down this way, we're not goin' to the Gorge. Tajo's the place for a soiree. Rancho Wernerio, with pine trees and chapparal, horses, tequila, and virgin boulders. I'll bring Bill D. and Riley too. We've got ties that go back to the beginning! We'll recite the scout oath, then drain every bottle!

Bob, I've got a problem near the trailer that no one else's been able to do. Hehe.

Oh, Mr. Kirkwood may have slacked off on the climbing for the last two years, but he is a busy boy. Here he is about a month ago:

John, a CT shindig sounds splendid, though fall is probably as soon as those stars might get aligned. Still and all, as has been pointed out, time is just not that relevant.

yep, galen sure knows how to carve a line. who's got those pictures of him from '76, sailing over the pool light and nailing the coping at the "toilet bowl" in hillcrest? he and mike paul and david paul used to go there quite a bit, first or second pool to get rode in san diego.

JV, you couldn't possibly be referring to b. davenport, my old boy scout troop leader???? not possible, last time i saw him was at the first magnolia contest, '78 i think. the day after the contest werner organized a mass assault on the north face of san jacinto and gunter wound up falling 2,000 feet and somehow escaped alive...

Maybe you should do more climbing.
