hey there say, crustie/christie...

lets give a nice warm welcome to those lurkers and hope that they do...
i'd sure love to see what you made, too... :)

i love home-made things...

say, folks, you do NOT need to put yourself in the picture, if you are not sure to do so.... no one will feel slighted, :)

or,like me, if you have camera, or dial up, or tech trouble, you could just say, "arrived safe and sound" and "enjoying some kick-back time, with the family" and a small thank you...

it's hard to wonder about the mail, if stuff arrives safe... :)

Brandon, so glad you liked the biners in their cozies. I'm glad they went to someone living in a cold climate ;) Happy holidays!

Hey guys. Sorry for the slow response but life and work has been busy. And I finally got to celebrate Christmas!

Holy Moly! Thank you all so much for everything! Your generosity and kindness is amazing...

The first gift to arrive was a long rectangular box that contained a beautiful, brand-spanking-new...

AWESOME. Already got plans to bring this bad boy down to Josh at the end of Jan to break him in.

A couple days later I got another package, a smaller box sent from our very own neebee (I also got a great christmas card from her as well, thanks bee!). Upon opening it I found:

...which is currently hanging above my bed, admirably catching dreams nightly.

Then a third package arrived, a small box from Barnes and Noble. What could this be, I thought, surely not another gift...but it was! And it seems someone was poking through my comment history because they found the post I made about reading the book, "Last of the Mohicans" and I got:

Catching up with the rest of the Mohican series has been on my list of books to get and now I am a book closer. I can't wait to read it. Thanks!

And finally I received an over night envelope which contained:

A very thoughtful Christmas card and a very generous gift card. Thank you so MUCH John. This was a huge surprise and GREATLY appreciated.

To be honest, I am completely stunned by the kindness shown to me from all you folks. A HUGE thanks to zip, poco, neebee and of course everyone who chipped in to take care of me. The surprise of getting the gifts, one after another and not knowing what was going on was a huge boost during the busy season here at work. Heck, I was in such a good mood yesterday when I was opening the gifts that I didn't even care when a guest cabin here at work caught on fire and I had to run into a smoke filled cabin to make sure it was empty. Fortunately the fire sprinklers had done their job and put the fire out. Probably $20K in damage though but not my problem.

I am happy everyone had a great time with this event, I look forward to it every year. And every year it gets better and better, with more people joining the fun, great gifts traveling across the country (and from other countries!) and a lot of surprises and smiles for all involved.

Merry Christmas Everyone! Happy New Year!

We will be talking about this again in 11 months. =)

From the bottom of my heart, thanks again everyone. =)

IHatePlastic,
You're right, I got another package in the mail about the same day. Since my kids opened them before I was home from work I didn't know. That one had the fifi hook along with some beaks and auks.
There are some really amazing gifts out there.
Thanks again Strider for putting on the ST SSGE.

It isn't over yet. I recently received a treemendus gift from a certain birthday gurl. Will post up photos this weekend; however, I refuse to wear a tee shirt as shorts and do a hand stand. Trust me, this is a good thing. You would not want to see it and I'd probably hurt myself...

hey there say, lolli... wow, the other envelope did not come... so, if i get a chance tomorrow, i just got some rent and food money--i will go and see if i can find the adapter that you and jan spoke of...

i would like to light it for new years.... :)

there must have been a huge last minute backup that this poor enveolope got stuck in... :)

i am so very happy though, so please don't feel bad as to the mail's slow job... :)

Neebee,

If you cannot find the adapter, you can simply remove the existing plug from the cord and replace it with one you can buy very cheaply at any hardware store.

If you are not comfortable doing this you can go to a smaller store like an Ace and no doubt find a nice person who will do it for you.

One more thanks to Strider for putting this together, my SS for the gift, and everyone involved for being so generous. First year I got involved, and definitely not the last. :-)

hey there say, thanks crock...

say, i couldn't get to the store to look for one, as the baby came early for me to babysit tonight...

i did ask the ex son in law, who had left the girls here, just before the baby came over, if HE could get me one, as he was at a 'multi' type store (like walmart, etc)...

well, that store DID have it, but it was in a pack that was KIT of adapters, so it was 29 bucks, :(

the guy helping him look, had been overseas in the army lots, and he said that they usually sell (at hardware stores) for about 5 bucks...

so now... most likely i will just wait for the envelope to come. :)
thanks so very much--it's got to come anytime now...
hope to have put it on for new years, but none of the kids spent the night, but the baby, so they are not missing out on the fun...

we WILL get a new year opportunity, YET, before lolli's advent
system of the new year weeks, is over, :))

I feel like Secret Scrooge not Secret Santa as my recipient has not received her gift yet. It is still on back order. I had hoped it would arrive just before Christmas. Maybe it will be delivered in time for Women's Christmas or Little Christmas on January 6.
I have not opened my own gift yet and will not until I send my belated gift.

I hope everyone had a great Christmahanukwanzaafestivus.
