Impressive - I've stood beneath that wall a number of times. I've heard that there are some half-completed aid lines up (or were!) Thanks for sharing

Crazy! I have walked along the base of that wall. That debris coming at the camera at mach 1 was scary!

And just to link in nicely with that, another 60,000 cubic metres of rock fell off the Dru two days ago. This follows 12,000 cubic metres in September. http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?t=480673 Check out the amazing camptocamp link on that thread.

The best comment on youtoob.

This is awesome footage! Amazing to be able to catch this on camera- thanks for sharing. The noise as it rocks around the valley is amazing. BTW everyone is safe- shows why guided trips are the way to go.

Good comment on the Dru:

Julien Haarman: le nouveau dru sera peut-etre plus facile..? pis le bas du pas de chevre aussi, ca va remblayer un peu la moraine. Sympa!

Here's a photo of the Yosemite Falls rockfall on October 28, taken by a visitor in Sentinel Meadow. The rockfall originated from the left corner of the big roof to the west (left) of and slightly below the top of the falls. The block was mostly in free-fall down the cliff, with the exception of one big impact on the flake left of the falls (which produced the dust cloud in the photo), and then completely shattered on impact at the base of the falls.

Thanks for the update on the Dru!

Did anyone else find that woman that kept laughing annoying? Looks like that one kid that was holding that rock didn't find it all so funny.

That was some amazing footage, good thing they weren't another 100 yds closer to the face, it wouldn't have been pretty.

That video is how I imagine the rockfall was between Briceburg and El Portal a few years back.

and to think, just one guy trundling a precarious boulder started all that off.....

It's funny how when you almost get killed it's very often funny.

We were up on the Sentinel on Friday and saw/heard the rock fall at the Yosemite Falls.

Upon impact at the base of the falls it sounded like a gun shot.

The sound seemed to be amplified by the falls amphitheater.

Quite a bit of dust cloud.

The aid routes are actually on cone rock which is a little bit further down the valley.
