While you're gloating, you may miss the best news of all for the Democrats. The Tea party lunatics (Tea Party Lemmings, as my representative referred to them) have caused businesses, big and small, to re-think their relationship to the Republican Party, according to the Wall Street Journal. http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702304384104579139903054309502

I know I received several emails in the last couple of weeks from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce urging me to contact my representative and let him know we need to end this. As it was, my representative was not for it in the first place.

And even Obama has done the right thing, saying there are no winners here.

I hate it when the Democrats are right, and the Republicans wrong.

Mmm. That crow sure tastes good!

Heres why Locker: Those that ran OUT of unemployment are OFF ANY LISTS> Those that WERE self employed were never on a list. Those who had small businesses arent on any list. Those who are ILLEGALS do not go on ANY lists. Want me to go on?

Gdamm man,, HOW CAN you TRUST any site about the gubbmint at this juncture? You think they tell TRUTHS do you??

Ron is sort of half right here but only in a way that anyone who half listens to NPR once a week can easily understand and he's pretending like he has the REAL information while citing nothing. The official unemployment rate is based on people actively looking for work. You stop looking for work and you are no longer counted as "unemployed." The problem is that there aren't any easily found data on who is "out of work and not looking but would like a job" and who is "not looking because they figured out how to live without the income or retired." There are estimates of "real" unemployment rates but they are always in dispute and what exact number you gets varies based on methodology.

What Ron is being a total idiot about is that my original assertion was that things are "better in Nevada than they were 4 years ago" and by whatever employment numbers you want to use they are improved and improving from 4 years ago when they were slightly worse and getting a lot worse.

What Ron is correct about is that Nevada has the highest unemployment rate.
But those are numbers collected by the government.
That I found by using Google.
So I guess that makes him wrong.

I'm happy to send you some hot sauce or maple syrup if it will go down easier that way. It still tastes a lot better than a depression.

The Teahadists really kicked the GOP in the gnads on this one. Maybe we are seeing the beginning of the end for the insanity that has gripped our government for the last 20 years?

Lets take HOUSING numbers here for example.. Foreclosures down? Only due to one fact: We have ran out of available housing as those that were already forclosed on set IDLE as their title searches CAN NOT BE DONE due to the fractured, sold off, and distributed notes. So those houses arent counted any more on any lists.. They are just setting there empty as they have for a few years or more now.

Im NOT trying to argue anything here, but rather point out some glaring deficiency in reporting of the countrys shape.

Im trying to let you all know,, from the bottom of the economy,, that things arent as "THEY" say. And holey schmoley do i WISH i could tell you different.

Ron if you really think there is only one reason that housing has recovered in Nevada then you are beyond explaining things to.

A series of unfinished homes in the Stead area recently burned to the ground.. Six one and two story homes, fully built but unfinished interiors- that had been setting idle for the past six or seven years. They think people of the area finally got tired of them and struck a match to it all. That is the way housing here has been going. Six new homes burned to get rid of the blight.

That was just a local blip on the news.. Doubt it made a "google page" what so ever. But feel free to look,, either Stead or Lemon valley may get you something.

Now of couse ive been doing some part time work for builders here. Demo for remodels actually,, since the rest of the houses empty are just unavailable due to title issues.

I don't understand why we even HAVE a Bureau of Labor Statistics when we could just be asking you. Another example of government excess I guess. We could be using that money to upgrade Bo's helicopter.

I'm not sure what you mean, Ron. I only trust information gathered ad hoc by taxidermists who moonlight doing construction.
