Hedge you drank the koolaid. It's ok I don't care my point is ford took nothing survived and well those of us who bought ford at a buck n some change are doing pretty good with that investment.

While GM spent their capital borrowed more money spent that over paid executives and in the end not being fiscally responsible required our tax dollars to save them. In a real capitalistic society those companies fail and new ones fill the void.
Ford would have hired most of those people to build the cars and trucks needed to fill that void left by GM.

Where am I from? Doesn't matter. Views are views they come from all over the country but I'm from north of the Mason Dixon .

"Over-paid execs" had nothing to do with it. GM was worth $7B in market cap in 2008 but was paying out $7B a year in health care and retiree benefits. It effectively wasn't in the car business anymore - it was primarily a health care provider that made cars on the side, because the cost of health care went up 800% in the 1993-2008 time frame.

I have no interest in the shares of either company.

But one thing both sides are overlooking here are the suppliers. Simply put, if GM and/or Chrysler went down, Ford would have gone down too because their suppliers relied on ALL of those companies being in business.

GM disappeared? So would those suppliers, well before Ford or anyone else would have grabbed market share and cranked up production. Which means that Ford was a secondary beneficiary of the GM bailout and would likely not have survived if GM hadn't been bailed.

First Ron, what is the source for your Obama brother/ muslim brotherhood claim. I bet it's some dipshit John birch blog.

Second, so what? Somewhere, some unfortunate relative of yours has to claim you as a family member. That's not their fault either.

Not necessarily, because Ford's suppliers did not necessarily supply GM or Chrysler. As you point out, the disappearance of GM and Chrysler wouldn't mean the disappearance of demand for new cars, but it would mean a disruption in who satisfied that demand. Depending on which manufacturers satisfied the demand that GM and Chrysler formerly supplied, the suppliers of Ford may well have been better off financially, and Ford may well have made even more money.

Hahahaha - which I'm sure their stockholders are just absolutely ecstatic about. GM stock is now double what Ford's is. I'm sure they're just ecstatic that Ford never took any stimulus.

I hate to be picky, but I'm quite certain the Ford shareholders and creditors are much happier than those of GM or Chrysler that got wiped out in their bankruptcies.

"Wiped out"? Why? GM stock is worth 37 times as much as in 2008. How were the shareholders "wiped out"?

The Republican Party first gave us the Worst President to ever sit in the White House.

Then they gave us the worst Congress ever to occupy the Capitol.

And now we have the worst Speaker of the House to oversee our Democracy.
Second in line if the President dies.

That is what you get when you vote Republican; clowns, idiots, morons, tools and pawns to Corporate Money.

They're only platform is being against everything, they don't have anything to offer, except more suffering for the Country so they can suck out more riches for their cronies and campaign funds.

Why the obstruction for progress? Because the system is rigged! any change will shift the balance out of their control.
Basically we have the best bought off Tools running our Government because Americans are too stupid to see what they are voting for, and instead vote on fear, propaganda, misinformation and advertising. All bought and provided to you 24/7 by the very same Corporations via the right wing media.
Divide and Conquer.

really?

and why don't you educate us Ron on how exactly your President "supports" radical Islam in Syria?

links to perhaps the speeches he has given supporting your accusation, and links to money or weapons that your US Pentagon has given especially to the specific groups that call for radical Islam out of the 35 different fighting groups fighting the Syrian government there right now?

and then contrast that to how your President has masterfully behind the scenes supported the overthrow of that same radical Islam in Egypt, so much so in fact that the new government of Egypt just last week told the Muslim Brotherhood to take a hike, that they would no longer have a voice in Egypt government

knowing that you were involved in all the intelligence briefings by satellite linkup in Mound, Nevada

wrong, as usual

your US Treasury has purchased TRILLIONS of dollars in BOND Notes and Offering, all for the
purpose of driving US interest rates to the lowest level in over 80 years, a damn good thing

Norton,, you go goolge up about a hundred pages of info on who obama supports there now. Muslim Brotherhood, thats who. Same crapfest he tried to shove on Egypt and weve seen how that worked out. Same crapfest that arms through Benghazi were going to. Funny that the Christians there all prefer Assad to the alternative. In fact we have a lengthy history of supporting these snakes- worked out well for us when we armed them against the russians in afghanistan now didnt it.

and as far as the artificially floating stick market:

So how long being 17 trillion on debt will this money printing scheme last?

The bitter irony is that Ron thinks he's intelligent when he types.

I'm sure you're intelligent and well respected in your field Ron, you do good work. But, when you type about politics nobody takes you seriously.

Drop the hick twang, cite credible sources and you'd be on track to people listening, rather than mocking you.

Friendly advice. Seriously, I'm not trying to be a dick.
