While you guys argue the merits and motives of Keystone and the rabid enviro community pulls every crooked tool out of the bag to shoot it down in the court of public opinion the canadians are quietly laying plans and soliciting customer committment for their crude to be shipped out of Vancouver B.C. Their is already a pipeline in place and terminal facilities for tanker loading, it just needs expansion and upgrade.Don't worry though since west coast U.S. refineries will be major recipients. Your hybrids will continue to roll.

No need - neither KXL or Northern Gateway will ever happen. Canada only wants KXL so they won't have to screw up their own environment, and British Columbia wants nothing to do with Northern Gateway, so it won't happen. And dems in the US can put it off KXL until 2020 (if not sooner), when the repub party effectively dies due to demographics.

Common sense - it's not worth 5000 2-year jobs to convert North America into a resource colony for Communist China.

The Republicans Killed Democracy off in 2008 when all of a sudden it took 60 votes to pass any legislation.
So they are still in charge, and screwing this Country so they can blame it on Obama.

Some call it a quiet coup.

What Democracy requires a 60% majority??
Not the Country the Founding Fathers created.

"What Democracy requires a 60% majority??"

60-vote cloture is a moot point - no bill that fails at that level would make it through the House anyway

Demographics will fix Congress - dems will have 2/3 super-majorities in both houses, like we already do in CA, by 2020 (maybe sooner).

We should change the name of The Democratic Party to The Demographic Party, just to rub it into repub's faces even more.

Wrong
We had the House for 2 years, and got nothing through
Jobs bills
Veteran Jobs bills
Raising Taxes on the rich
stopping the Corporate and Big Oil Subsidies
Back Ground checks

all stopped by the Minority

Obama had a bill that would have cut 1.5 trillion in spending, the Repubs just decided to not allow a vote on it, and let the sequester go through instead, that only cuts $86 billion.

They won't even allow Obama to cut spending!

All the Dems need is less than 30 Republicans to get a bill through the house, not all of them are treasonous tools.

The minority couldn't stop bills in the House, though

Patience - demographics is well on its way to exterminating the repub vermin from American political life.

10,000 repubs a month 60 years old and over die every month, and they're not being replaced

Meanwhile there'll be 12 million more hispanic voters in 2016 than there was in 2012, and 12 million more than that in 2020 - and they vote 70-80% dem.

Let repubs rearrange the deck chairs on their Titanic of a party aaaaallllll they want, while we sit back and laugh

The demographic tsunami will wipe them off the face of the earth.

I wouldn't be so smug Hedge, that oil or like kind will find it's way to tidewater. Speaking of demographics, have you been to B.C., particularly Vancouver, lately? Look at the cities skyline and you'll notice it looks like little Hong Kong.

I see that the FAA/Administration apologists were apparently unable to muster any citation to deny the allegations in the Wall Street journal editorial I quoted yesterday. If the FAA didn't set up the website criticized in the editorial, it would have been a simple matter to contradict. The Senatorial action quoted was recorded on Youtube, so it would be rather difficult to contradict:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxpDDAWP4-I&feature=youtu.be

Of course, the virtually unanimous congressional action to end the obvious, despicably intentional inconvenience of the public by the FAA will make the FAA action depart from mainstream news, but this episode demonstrates this administration's attitude toward governance: political gain over public good.

Yup, shot promos there for some ABC stuff last year.

Allegations offered without proof require none to dispute them.

If there were any proof...there'd be proof.

You failed.

The Republican thought that the Cuts of the Sequester wouldn't harm anything, and when they did, they blame the President.
Despicable

They were happy to make the cuts, saying any cuts are better than no cuts, so they were lying as well.

Well where do you think a large part of the oil will go Joe? Combine that with 6 billion in loan guarantees for the project by its largest customer and considering who is responsible for that skyline and you can begin to see the inevitability.

It'll stay put, obviously. The Canadians aren't going to build Northern Gateway, and KXL isn't going to happen unless repubs take over the federal gov't. Which, of course, won't happen - they'll be in the same position nationally by 2020 that they already are in CA now.

Just another wingnut fantasy.

By 2020, we'll get socialized health care, and military spending will be cut in half.

Which coincides (not coincidentally) with the extinction of the repub party

What…? Did bluebag get taught something?

But still, wouldn't the short-term jobs be awesome?

Wow…. How short sided can he be? Narrow, short… closed… certainly not "open-mined" to alternatives to the short sided whimpy c#m shot of "progress" offered by at least two of the taco-re-staters.

I'm all-in if we can cut the Saudis out.

I can almost see the blinders on this big thinker type.

And if we're producing and refining oil, why would we ship it and import oil? Isn't that illogical?

There he goes again… Thinking cap firmly cutting off circulation to vital organs…. Namely… the brain

"I think you're wrong, jghedge."

That's nice. Call Wikipedia and tell them they're wrong too.

Also TransCanada, which Wiki cites as the source for most of that link.

Wait… jghedge has some knowledge and research to back what he has written?

Why hasn't the thinker done anything remotely as keen? Oh, wait… The thinking cap… I nearly forgot.

"Oil from proposed Keystone pipeline could end up exported"

Could? Hahahaha

Ya think?

Why else would Canada be piping their own oil to the Gulf of Mexico?

Why not just build their own refineries?

Amazing how easy it is for the repub party to play their constituency for fools.

Like taking candy from a baby.

Now I just look bad… I haven't writ anything as clear as this yet… I'm working on it though.

Hard to believe that it really is that easy. There is no second thought. Just promise a handful of jobs, imaginary "cheap gas" and you have set the hook. The countryside will be uninhabitable and there will be no drinking water for hundreds of miles by the time they realize what they have given away with all their flag waving and jobs rhetoric. So much trust in the republicon leaders, as if they really have the people's best intrests in mind.

It only takes a few posts from this blewguy to put a resounding exclamation point on the answer to the "Why are republicons wrong about everything" question…. I read… and laugh for the comic relief, but weep with sadness for these people who think that business will make things right and bring back America to its former glory
