I'm not sure I understand what constitutes internet cowardice. No one responds to Bookworm's posts, even though they are sourced and relevant, but somehow Bookworm is the coward?

He's afraid to engage. It's easy to C & P then disappear.

It's disrespectful.

Before I knew what bookworm is I opened a couple of his links. They either were not relevant to his post or actually contradicted what he was saying.

Open his link, I bet it has nothing to do with green energy.

Add "told a half truth" to that list. That article is exactly what he says it is about. Unfortunately, it neglects to mention that jobs are created by investment, and right now investment is in oil and gas, and this is the only reason folks are going to work in some of the only decent paying jobs around.

John, lots of folks respond to bookies idiotic posts with pertinent facts and rebuttals. His response is invariably posting another idiotic misunderstood/irrelevant/extremely biased and unsupported article. Sometimes we get awesome diatribes like the one above, too. He actually has a pretty funny writing style that I like. Overall this makes his contributions very worthy in my eyes.

This is Big...
Everyone needs to know about what the Koch Brothers are up to,
and if you don't, they have already own The Republican Party, and are the leaders of the Libertarian and Tea Party,
They are pouring in Billions of dollars to rig the elections for their benefit, and doing everything in their power to circumnavigate Democracy.

Koch Brothers Exposed: 2014 Edition
by Robert Greenwald
Brave New Films

I hope you’re ready for a wild ride. Billionaires David and Charles Koch have been handed the ability to buy our democracy in the form of giant checks to the House, Senate, and soon, possibly even the Presidency. The last time we exposed the Koch Brothers' dealings to the world we here at Brave New Films wound up in their crosshairs. They produced online ad campaigns attacking us, but, it takes more than a banner ad to slow us down.

We've reissued Koch Brothers Exposed in an updated version, Koch Brothers Exposed: 2014 Edition, to shine a light on them. We've delved even deeper into where their money is going, who their money is hurting, and how much they are making during this whole process leading up to the 2014 Elections.

Two years ago when we made this film very few people knew who the Koch Brothers were or what the Koch Brothers were doing. But now, we so strongly believe that everyone should know what is happening that with your help and donations we are able to offer the film for free. We want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to see the truth.

The U.S. House of Representatives took steps this week to address the Veterans Affairs scandal by passing a bill that would make it easier for the VA chief to remove or discipline problematic employees.

“Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Secretary may remove any individual from the Senior Executive Service if the Secretary determines the performance of the individual warrants such removal,” the two-page bill, known as H.R. 4031, reads.

The measure managed to pass the House Wednesday with overwhelming support from U.S. lawmakers, securing some 390 votes in favor, despite opposition from 33 Democratic representatives.

The Republicans defunded the VA, hence the problems we are seeing now

Thank God Obama will fix another one more of the millions of disasters that the Republican Party are the directly to blame

I wonder why the Fair and Balanced media is so eager to forget that they cut the funding to the VA, so they could fund the rich and lobbyists with more tax loopholes.

How come all the "patriots" on this forum aren't protesting the f*#kup in the VA system? After all, these are the guys and girls fighting the war on terror that the Repubs love so much. F*#k Bundy, what about the mistreatment of the vets coming back from those bs wars?

You haven't been paying much attention lately have ya?

This has been a non story in the MSM and all of Dr Frauds idols want the VA model for all of us.

And herein lies the problem for the left: the failures at the VA, including its bureaucratic incompetence, its waiting lists, and its deaths, all debunk the notion that a government-run healthcare system will work. It’s a fresh slap in the face to all those commentators who, in pushing Obamacare, endorsed the VA as a model.

There are some pretty big names on that list. Paul Krugman in 2011 wrote of the VA’s “huge success story”:

Multiple surveys have found the VHA providing better care than most Americans receive, even as the agency has held cost increases well below those facing Medicare and private insurers…the VHA is an integrated system, which provides health care as well as paying for it. So it’s free from the perverse incentives created when doctors and hospitals profit from expensive tests and procedures, whether or not those procedures actually make medical sense.

Krugman added, “Yes, this is ‘socialized medicine’…But it works, and suggests what it will take to solve the troubles of US health care more broadly.”

Similarly, Nicholas Kristof of the Times wrote in 2009:

Take the hospital system run by the Department of Veterans Affairs, the largest integrated health system in the United States. It is fully government run, much more “socialized medicine” than is Canadian health care with its private doctors and hospitals. And the system for veterans is by all accounts one of the best-performing and most cost-effective elements in the American medical establishment.

Just last year, Uwe Reinhardt of Princeton wrote in the pages of the Times:

Remarkably, Americans of all political stripes have long reserved for our veterans the purest form of socialized medicine, the vast health system operated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (generally known as the V.A. health system). If socialized medicine is as bad as so many on this side of the Atlantic claim, why have both political parties ruling this land deemed socialized medicine the best health system for military veterans? Or do they just not care about them?

Or try the RAND Corporation: “If other health care providers followed the V.A.’s lead, it would be a major step toward improving the quality of care across the U.S. health care system.”

Then there’s Voxsplainer Ezra Klein, who wrote in the Washington Post in 2009 that “expanding the Veterans Health Administration to non-veterans” was “one of my favorite ideas.”

Jonathan Golob of The Seattle Stranger has written in the same vein: “Every time I read about a Teabagger ranting about how socialized medicine will destroy this country I think of the VA system. There it is, a huge and vastly important universal healthcare system—government run, single payer and therefore socialist—right here in the brave and privatized United States: The Veterans Affairs hospitals.”

Obama said he would fix it,
and now it will be fixed
Will the Republicans Vote to fund the VA at the Appropriate levels so this doesn't happen again???

The President is not able to provide funds to fix any problem with the VA, only the Republican House can. Why did they deny the funds in the first place when they knew it was having problems ?
These revelations are nothing new.

Why blame Obama?
Why is it that if any thing happens, it's Obama's fault?

I wonder?, But not far, since I know the answer, and it's no something that's not easily discussed without delving into verbal abuse.

Obama is in his sixth year of office and the first he hears about the VA problems is in the newspaper? I'm tired of his calls for accountability in his administration. It's time for some responsibility.
