"Illegal" immigrants have contributed way more than you would ever like to admit Ron.

Most illegals contribute more than MANY natural born citizens.
PLENTY of losers born here.

We've been through this before.

Norway and Sweden are not socialist economies.

They are not even close.

I buy some of my furniture at IKEA.

And I have a friend that drives a Saab.

Fully socialist countries: USSR, Cuba, North Korea, China (although China is changing...)

Dave, you've got that totally backwards.

KNOTT talking about documented farm workers or ANY other legal workers OR legally migrated citizens..

Im talking about the ones that come here NOT to be part of this country. Those who go fishing with out licenses and catch hundreds of fish over the limit - or poach anything they see from raptors to horses, otters to elk.
Im talking about those that come here to further the cartels, and gangs. Im talking about the ones that now commit the majority of violent crimes in most areas, NIGHTLY. Im talking about those that turn once good neighborhoods into third world looking trash heaps. Im talking about those who havent paid didly in taxes licenses or anything else of that nature, but send home $$$$ to bring more of the same kind into the country. Those that wont even try to learn the launguage. Those that steal, rob and murder. Those that suck up any clinics or other medical services until they can no longer accept any more clients, citizen or not. Im talking about the ones that want to fly mexican flags instead of stars and bars. Im talking about the ones that tag my rocks with hate messages and other crap. Im talking about the ones that busted into my buddies home a couple of weeks ago that now inhabit the carson city jail. We gettin the picture now?

Totally misleading number and study because it didn't talk about the net cost. It didn't discuss how much taxes are collected from these people. It just looked at how much it costs.

Yer kidding right? You actually want examples of native born losers and illegals being more productive than that?

Refer to step 1: Stereotype.

California has the largest immigrant population in the US, and immigrants (both legal and illegal) are under represented among California prison inmates.[99] The most recent research indicates approximately 35% of the California population consists of immigrants, while immigrants represent 17% of the prison population. In fact, U.S. born adult men are incarcerated at a rate over two-and-a-half times greater than that of foreign-born men. However, this does not separate the illegal versus legal immigrants.

Illegal immigrants avoid involvement in criminal activity to reduce interaction with law enforcement officials, and according to Tim Wadsworth, an assistant professor of sociology at the University of Colorado at Boulder, "[t]he suggestion that high levels of immigration may have been partially responsible for the drop in crime during the 1990s seems plausible."

100% of the illegals I have known personally went out of their way to be super law abiding.

But according to you, they come here specifically to break every law in sight.

We all bow to the mighty Carson City cartels.

The countries you cite are not socialist, mainly fascist or dictatorships.

Those are not exclusive.

One reason that we are talking past each other is that many have attempted to redefine socialism in order to disassociate it from the massive humanitarian catastrophes that have resulted from every attempt at a fully socialist economy. Also, there are both political and economic definitions for socialism, but the economic model requires a certain political structure to enforce.

Read the Wikipedia article on socialism and one will see that there are many different variants of socialism, but it is notable that almost all of them are academic theories.

Despite the differences of opinion on semantics, there is little debate that full socialsim means very limited private property ownership along with prices and resource allocation that are set by the state and not by free markets. The countries I listed above meet those requirements, certainly far more than Sweden or Norway.

Im talking about those that come here to further the cartels, and gangs. Im talking about the ones that now commit the majority of violent crimes in most areas, NIGHTLY.

Ron, Fresno has plenty of undocumented residents, but our gang problems more often involve native born or children of legal immigrants.

I realize you intended your comments to apply only to those here illegally, and I know that immigrants generally have increased our costs in areas ranging from medical care to education -- mainly because of the need for translators. I have no way of knowing how many of those demanding services here have complied with all visa requirements, so I have no way of differentiating between the demands of "legal" and "illegal" immigrants.

I also know that immigrants -- "legal" and otherwise -- have contributed mightily to the San Joaquin Valley's economy. Of course, I am biased. I am the son of a legal immigrant mother, and a first generation American father.

As I've said before, our immigration policies are overtly racist, because they intend to preserve the ethnic mix of a century ago. If I were emperor of the world, my ideal immigration policy would be that anyone could go anywhere legally. The only limiting factor would be demonstrated criminal activity. Visitors not paying taxes would only get limited governmental services, however. Those working here would get all of the government services any other working person would get.

Needless to say, my view will remain unpopular with stalwarts of either major political party.

Hmm I have only known two families of Illegal immigrants. They were both neihbors and they changed my opinion greatly. Both Families had Hard working TAXPAYING heads of household.

Infact they paid more than their fair share due to not filing taxes because they were afraid to. I helped both understand the deduction schedule on their forms so they would not be paying more than they should and not getting their refunds.

Super friendly loving dedicated parents with fantastic families. They would insist I attend birthdays and other celebrations and provided great music and food.

Good people that this Nation is VERY LUCKY to have residing within it's borders.

They are not the problem they are the solution as good people are always a solution. There are never too many good people.

The imperfect legal system is the problem. And those who promote it are traitors.. knowingly or not.

JE,, im all for those that come here to legally work or migrate. Just like my forefathers on the euro side did. Those folks have been around forever, and indeed helping the economy. However, in the past twenty years - an increasing amount of illegals are here for far different reasons. And having a blackhawk helo circle you as you climb is a direct result of some of those reasons. I would imgaine the cost of those helo ops going on here run about 35K a day to the tax payers of the country. Thats one teensie example of cause and effect.

edit: this from wiki,,

Costs of illegal immigrants in L.A. county
During January 2011, Fox News reported that welfare benefits for the children of illegal immigrants cost L.A. County (California) more than $600 million during 2010, according to a local official keeping tabs on the cost. However, these costs include American-born children of illegal immigrants, who are U.S. citizens. During 2010, the Federation for American Immigration Reform also looked at such costs nationwide to get an idea of the burden to local governments at a time when many are grappling with budget deficits. The organization reported that the cost of illegal immigration stands at about $113 billion a year. Nearly half of that amount went toward education costs, according to the study. Costs were naturally higher in states with large illegal immigrant populations -- in California, the total annual cost was pegged at $21.8 billion. However, this cost was not offset with the economic activity generated by these immigrants.[48]
In Los Angeles county 60% of uninsured emergency room patients are not U.S. citizens, and more than half are illegally in America. This has caused hospitals to close. It can take four days for patients to get a hospital bed. [49]

Very good point, John.

I doubt there are many people, including some of the biggest critics of illegal immigration, that know much at all about the policies for selecting who can be a legal immigrant.
