I'm not sure Krugman's record of predictions is any better than any other economist, but I'm also not sure anybody has a consistent track record of being right most of the time. The global economy is just too big a system to model reliably.

Liberal watchdog Common Cause called Tuesday for President Obama to urge his supporters to disband Organizing for Action, the outside group supporting his agenda.
The president "should direct his associates to shut down" OFA, Common Cause said in a statement..
“If President Obama is serious about his often-expressed desire to rein in big money in politics, he should shut down Organizing for Action and disavow any plan to schedule regular meetings with its major donors,” said Bob Edgar, the group's president. “Access to the president should never be for sale.”

I think a better rebuttal would be to list Krugman's successful predictions and prescriptions. While some macroeconomic predictions of his are better than others, there is a reason that private economists, who make their living predicting what effect the economy will have on specific firms, aren't beating a path to his door for his predictions of economic aggregates.
He incorrectly predicted the Reagan tax cuts would re-ignite inflation. Is that a Republican lie? If so, please demonstrate. The stimulus spending has been a demonstrable failure in spurring the economy. His only solution is that we need more of it. If you disagree, please demonstrate where what I'm saying is incorrect. I acknowledge mistakes.
And Dave, yes, we economists don't have a great track record with accurate predictions, but I have called the timing, direction and approximate magnitude of each recession during which I was employed as an econometrician since the 1974-75 recession. Quite simply, my clients don't pay for -- and probably don't care about -- my political predilections, so I can't afford to color my forecasts to make "my side" of the political debate look good.
Krugman prefers a much larger government share of GDP, and his policy recommendations and public forecasts reflect that basic philosophy. He writes his popular columns in rhetoric that pleases those who share his views, but would make a poor choice for convincing neutrals or those who disagree with his basic philosphy. His professional work is entirely different, of course, but that's not what gets posted on these pages.
Of course, the real issue is the quality of what he says now, so in that sense, I agree with jstan's initial reaction: Refuting Krugman requires refuting his arguments, not merely making an ad hominum attack.

But of the two parties, the DEMS are closer to my way of thinking...
I personally don't see it so much as "Them against us"...
Especially since Obama continues to TRY and regain some solid ground for the Middle Class and below...
But I DO get your drift...
