barry's actually a liberal!

Then why did he oppose single payer or even a public option? His health care plan is a center-right policy.

bookworm only browses blogs that reinforce his preexisting views! "Shocka!"

Labels are subjective.

Actions are not. I focus on an administration's actions and let the pundits and their dittoheads peel and stick on the labels. That's unskilled shitwork.

Obama never claimed we'd 'won' the war in Afghanistan. I think most people realize by now that there is no 'winning' to be had there. History backs up that assertion pretty solidly.

If you've got a better plan for Afghanistan, let's hear it.

Yeah, you some people couldn't keep their healthcare. I was one of those. That was a mistake. They happen. The administration has taken steps to mitigate that mistake. That's good, responsive government.

If you've got a better plan for mitigating this, let's hear it.

If you've got better way to deal with either Pakistan or Syria, let's hear it.

Use that money for our OWN downtrodden , the poor inner city kids etc etc etc etc.

Funny, cause those are the people that you guys are always poor shaming and trying to cut money from vis a vis food stamps, "Obama phones" and Medicaid.

(Guess what: we can afford to do both. We're actually rich as f*#k.)

I'll need a link to a verifiable quote for that Afghan victory claim, Ron. Otherwise, I'm going to assume it didn't happen. Also - what's your plan for Afghanistan? I'm assuming you believe we should continue fighting a war there, since you apparently disapprove of Obama's plan for withdrawal. Do tell!

And not giving Pakistan a dime - what could possibly go wrong there? I can't think of a single thing....

See, I like to put critics in the driver's seat. King for a Day!

It's not a fruitful effort. I never seem to get much in the way of substantive policy ideas from Obama's many critics. Mostly, they prefer to reiterate what a lying soshulist weakling black man he his.

That doesn't make for much of a policy work plan, though.

While you're working up that work plan, Ron, I've got some other stuff to do. Looking forward to big changes in Central Asia.

The statements of President Obama that "if you like your plan, you can keep your plan" under the Patient Protection [sic] and Affordable [sic] Care act are verifiable lies. He knew facts that showed those statements were wrong when he made them. These statements didn't depend on deciding which intelligence to believe, or whose opinion made sense. The very language of the statute guaranteed the statements' falsity.

The more the public sees what the ACA involves, the better the Republicans' chances in 2016, but I'm not ready to bet on the GOP for the presidential election just yet. Their biggest obstacle is themselves. I, for one, would vote for Hillary Clinton before I voted for, say, a Rand Paul. In addition, the Democrats' propaganda machine disguised as the "mainstream" media will do its best to hide the Democrats' vulnerability, and highlight the Republican nominee's weaknesses. If the Republicans find a good candidate, though, it will be interesting.

"The statements of President Obama that "if you like your plan, you can keep your plan" under the Patient Protection [sic] and Affordable [sic] Care act are verifiable lies."

Maybe, maybe not. But it is truly fascinating how Republican outrage over 'lies' made by Clinton & his blowjob, or Obama & his ACA politics, that have resulted in at worst the passage of legislation that has at least a hope of helping the American people, while at the same time being dismissive of the verifiable lies under their own Party that lead to the deaths, life & property destruction of thousands of human beings. 'Compassionate Conservatism'? Puh-llleeese.

"I, for one, would vote for Hillary Clinton before I voted for, say, a Rand Paul."

That's why I like you, John. But I'm sure you'd do so while holding your nose...I'd be curious to hear your views of any other GOP candidates as they emerge.

Kahn took Afganistan and Iraq in three months, if you study history.

and our wonderful military "took" Iraq in a couple of days, because we wanted to

and our wonderful military was not directed to "take" Afghanistan, but to weaken the Taliban which was sheltering Bin Laben and EL Queda, which we have now done,
and thus starting to pull combat troops out

so your point is, what?

aw come on Coz,

I am a grade school graduate, I am trying real hard to understand

I didn't insult you, I just asked you what the point of your observation was

was it to say that President Obama is "killing" our soldiers, because what, you disagree with our presence in Afghanistan, is that it?

apogee,

If I vote for a Democrat over a Republican, I probably am holding my nose -- to avoid the stench of the Republican! Sad to say, it's happened more than once, given the insanity of the California Republican Party. Unfortunately, the California Democratic Party has also fallen for mass insanity, so I need a gas mask here at election time.

In truth, I thought that both H. Clinton and Obama would make a decent president in 2008, because I though both were intelligent and had sufficiently sensitive self-preservation instincts to prevent them from doing something stupid. I just thought McCain's historical and proposed policy choices were better.

Unfortunately, I did not count on Obama's inability to lead in any manner other that destructive division. In contrast, I think Hillary is capable of being the sort of leader that Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan were -- able to bring in enough members of the other party and the American people to have a working consensus supporting changes and policy initiatives. I just wish she'd learn to keep certain comments to herself, such as "I'm not going to stay home baking cookies " or "what difference does it make now."

I think the best GOP presidential candidates are any of several governors, but I'll wait to see who runs. In contrast, someone like Ted Cruz or Rand Paul strike me as unable to reach across the aisle, and would simply be Obama re-runs.
