No, I don't think you have, but maybe my liberal-addled mind needs refreshing.

What president did you choose in 2008? 2012?

Let me tell you something about my vote Philo. By the time i get to the polls here in the far west, it has already been decided via the electoral college process. A deeply flawed process. So i could pencil in Charles Manson for all the good my "vote" does.

And Apogee , i havent voted for a "main party" candidate in the last three elections. I DIDNT vote for Bush twice, because i wont be FOOLED twice.

A lot of people dwell on one's presidential vote, but that's only a small part, at least it should be only a small part, of one's civic life.

I'm still interested in who participants on this forum admire. I think it's an interesting question - or maybe its a stale, trite question.

Hell, I don't know.

What makes me ill the most is the phrase uttered by MILLIONS of Americans every election cycle these days : "I voted for the lesser of the two evils"..

When in reality they have too often voted for the evil of two lessers.

It's unfortunate that makes you ill, because the lesser of two evils constitutes the majority of choices in front of us in this life. That's the very nature of existence.

Rather than fight it, its probably better to accept this with grace and appreciate what you can.

They offer me neither food nor drink — intellectual nor spiritual consolation... [Conservatism] leads nowhere; it satisfies no ideal; it conforms to no intellectual standard, it is not safe, or calculated to preserve from the spoilers that degree of civilisation which we have already attained.

This coming election in the Fall will Be Very Important!!!!

Please Vote against the Party:
that Shut down the Gov.
Will not approve a Minimum wage hike
Will not help the economy or create jobs, and have made things worse
Have voted to decrease Veterans Benefits
Lie about everything
Are treasonous Anti-American Fascists

So in other words, Vote only for Liberal Democratic Congressmen and Governors
unless you want more of the same downward spiral

We Must take back the House, and Maintain the Senate
If not, the next 2 years will be worse than hell.

And Rong, you still decide your congress people, so vote smart, vote for recovery and a better future.

Doc, indeed. However, i voted for Heller who did a 180 after year one. He ,, a local boy, disregarded his view points once he was "indoctrinated". Upon writing him several times, and getting BS canned replies of non answers to my actual concerns, leaves me feeling fairly foolish.

I voted for Reids SON for governor and still think that would have been better that ol whatshisname.. I say that due to the fact he has hardly done ANYTHING of any substance in his term.

Thus far in NV, we have one rep that is actually clued into the state, another local Carson boy named Mark Amodei. He is the ONLY one bringing the feral horse issues to light first and foremost in reference to the possible/probable listing of the Greater sage grouse into the endangered species forum. This is a very HUGE issue for our state at this time.

I think people generally downplay what a critical issue the feral horse issue is nationally.

Three of the people I greatly admire:

Kathleen Taylor - Ex Dir ACLU WA
Sarah Dunne - Legal Dir ACLU WA
Allison Holcomb - Drug Policy Dir ACLU WA

These women have done more to improve the state of civil rights in America in the past 2 decades (and, through our example, the world) than any other people I can think of. And they've done it quietly, behind the scenes, and without tripping over their own egos.
