Excuse me for interrupting the squabble - I just wanted to give thanks that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan lost the election to an imperfect but far superior team.

And special thanks in advance to the Obama/Biden team for leading a Senate majority in terminating the republicon filibuster/obstructionist BS that has perpetuated the bush disease for too long.

What all Christians have been instructed to do (what i was referring to and was in my post): "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem." Psalm 126

How would you "interpret" that, Ken?

There are MANY ways to interpret that.

Jerusalem will be extraordinarily peaceful for many thousand years, if it is the epicenter of an H-bomb.

It will be peaceful if inhabited by Buddhists.

It would be far more peaceful if the jews left.

It would be more peaceful if all arabs were exterminated.

It would be very peaceful, forever, if humans are eradicated from the planet.

....and many, many others.

What freightens all sane people, is that whoever wants to do something terrible, can justify it by creative interpretation of words.

YOU don't know what they mean, and you shouldn't put yourself in the status of God's interpreter. That makes GOD angry, which is what you should worry about!

BS.. Gaza was in the hands first of the PLO, and Hamas took over the PLO. They have been a terrorist state from the git go. Just like Iran that supplies them with missiles. What would the USA do to some country that continually lobbed missiles onto our lands? We would wipe them out..And most everyone of us would cheer that action.

How is Israel not a terrorist state from the git go? They've exceeded their UN mandate from the beginning and are in continual violation of UN resolutions. What would the US do if mexico or Canada started building settlements inside US border states, stealing the lands from residents of Maine and Washington? What would the US do if drones from other countries assassinated our leaders and if other navies prevented us from importing and exporting goods?

It goes both ways

And, btw, without those analogies, Israel was literally a terrorist state in it's inception, guys like Sharon were attacking the British, who used to rule there.

"....The Irgun policy was based on what was then called Revisionist Zionism founded by Ze'ev Jabotinsky. According to Howard Sachar, "The policy of the new organization was based squarely on Jabotinsky's teachings: every Jew had the right to enter Palestine; only active retaliation would deter the Arabs; only Jewish armed force would ensure the Jewish state".[2]

Two of the operations for which the Irgun is best known are the bombing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem on 22 July 1946 and the Deir Yassin massacre, carried out together with Lehi on 9 April 1948.

The Irgun has been viewed as a terrorist organization or organization which carried out terrorist acts.[3][4] In particular the Irgun was branded a terrorist organisation by Britain.[5]

The Irgun was a political predecessor to Israel's right-wing Herut (or "Freedom") party, which led to today's Likud party.[6] Likud has led or been part of most Israeli governments since 1977....

So this is running on the news networks MSNBC & CNN (the only two cable channels i watched) and also posted on their internet feeds. So I post a shot last night and repeat what Anderson Cooper is reporting and agree with him that it is "shocking" and wake up this morning to all of these assaults from the liberal/leftest here. Uhmm, its okay to have these news networks post it and not I??? This is TOTAL hypocrisy. Not only that, it is censorship. If it had been Israel dragging a seven (7) of its citizens through the streets for collaborating with the Palestinians or Hamas there would have been an international uproar. You buffoons here would have been all over it. You make me SICK!

Here is Anderson Cooper reporting last night. He and the MSNBC anchors (that is where I got that other pic) where all over it. (he also tweeted it) It is reality. But, go ahead and stick your heads up or down some hole!!! Contact him about his exposing this "shocking" footage to the whole world if your so concerned about it!!

I Condemn all forms of barbarism, theirs and ours. Somehow we think ours is so much cleaner so we can torture Bradley Manning for revealing "Secrets" that didn't make much difference nor get anybody killed and the US and Israel can use cluster bombs that kill kids for years to come, or use white phosphorus which melts your skin off, and yet when somebody does something that is outside our cultural sensitivities, it's somehow a crime far beyond the purity we think of for ourselves.

That why Israel has killed over 10x as many children since 2000 and 10x as many civilians, and somehow they are the "precision" targeters who fight fair

“Many in the media reported that I said Papa John’s is going to close stores and cut jobs because of Obamacare. I never said that. The fact is we are going to open over hundreds of stores this year and next and increase employment by over 5,000 jobs worldwide. And, we have no plans to cut team hours as a result of the Affordable Care Act.”
~John Schnatter, CEO and founder of Papa John’s

John Schnatter has donated to the Republican party and has even held a fundraiser at his huge home for Mitt Romney (source). It has been more than 10 days and there has already been significant blowback to the Papa John’s brand. Millions of people are viewing Papa John’s in a different way and are considering not supporting a company where the CEO has said it’s “common sense” to cut workers hours to below 30. We wrote about that HERE. Now Mr. Schnatter says he never said what he was reported to say. He says his comments were all taken out of context and that Papa John’s is still going to build more stores, hire more employees and “has no plans to cut team hours as a result of the Affordable Care Act.” Well – that’s good news.

My take on this is very simple – boycotts really work and even threats of boycotts really work. It doesn’t make any sense for a company to get all of the bad publicity it is receiving over something that will cost them $8 to $12 million extra a year. We saw this play out with Denny’s over the past week as one of it’s franchisees decided to go all Galt and say immediately hours for workers were being cut and that he would add an Obama surcharge to customer’s bills. That franchisee has since had to apologize although he hasn’t said he would stop cutting worker’s hours and the CEO of Denny’s is doing major damage control (source). Back to Papa John’s – all of this was over $12 million a year at max in terms of the costs to employees. For Papa John’s that is no big deal; in fact – they got a hell of a good deal.

Cop Quits After Saying He Would Volunteer To Assassinate Obama

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville police officer has quit after admitting he told colleagues that he would volunteer to assassinate President Barack Obama.

The 57-year-old retired earlier this month while facing an internal investigation into his comments to other officers after the election. He told them that if an order came to kill Obama, he "wouldn't mind being the guy."

When questioned by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office integrity unit, he said he also didn't care if a nuclear explosion killed everyone in the Northeastern U.S because they supported Obama.

Pat Robertson claims he ‘missed’ God’s message about 2012 election

In January of this year, televangelist Pat Robertson informed his “700 Club” audience that God had revealed the results of the 2012 election to him in a vision, implying broadly at the time that the Almighty was less than pleased with President Barack Obama. According to Right Wing Watch, Robertson recanted on Wednesday, responding to a viewer question about his false prediction, saying he “missed” God’s message about the election result.

“So many of us miss God, I won’t get into great detail about elections but I sure did miss it, I thought I heard from God, I thought I had heard clearly from God, what happened? What intervenes? Why?” Robertson said. “You ask God, how did I miss it? Well, we all do and I’ve had a lot of practice.”

In January, Robertson said that God’s message to him was, “Your president holds a radical view of the direction of your country which is at odds with the majority, expect chaos and paralysis.”

He also predicted an “economic collapse” that would devastate the country, the result of which would be a new president. “But I’m not supposed to talk about that,” he said.

Every Christian I know are into the End of Days Bible Prophecy

Most of it was made up in the last Century, but Christians think it's in the Bible somewhere.

The live for any hint that one of the prophecies is being fulfilled, it just reaffirms their universal delusion

There are 1000s of web sites and blogs all talking about what's going on in Israel being true to prophecy, if it actually is or is the complete opposite doesn't matter, they will spin it to say that is was biblical prophecy.

I was looking up biblical prophecy in the Skeptic blogs, and they say most prophecies in the bible were 100% wrong.
I will search some more for something applicable

These are scary frightened people. They are radical fundamentalists willing to do any evil necessary to bring on their fantasy of the Rapture. They need to kept far away from political power and influence.
The Founding Fathers and architects of America were wise enough to know full well the need to Separate Church and State.

Bush thought he was helping bring on Armageddon, he was one of God's chosen ones to bring back Jesus to save us all.

But first he needed to start WWIII, so we can bring on the Rapture, or something

Fox’s Fear Mongering Won’t Stop With The Holidays

By Anjali Sareen

Fox New, once again, promotes War on Christmas

Talking Points Memo yesterday posted a compilation video they called Fox News’ “Scariest Christmas Ever.” In it, they highlight several instances, just between November 17th and November 21st, in which Fox News has already begun to scare their gullible conservative viewers with ideas of a “War of Christmas.”

Co-hosts of Fox New’s, “The Five,” asked each other whether it was too early to start talking about the “War on Christmas,” to which of course, Andrea Tantaros replied, “It’s never too early.” It might be “never too early” for you, Fox News, but the rest of us might need a minute to celebrate the re-election of President Barack Obama and celebrate Thanksgiving with our families before we can stomach your useless fear mongering.

Fox News mentioned several instances they perceive as a “War on Christmas,” which, of course, to the rest of us just seem like a decent separation of church and state.

Indecision Forever writer, Dennis DiClaudio, posted about the removal of a cross on an Illinois water tower and cited Fox News’ headline, “War on Christmas Erupts in Illinois.” DiClaudio aptly asked:

“You ever notice how it’s always a War on Christmas in small town America? It’s never a War on Hanukkah or a War on Ramadan? How about a War on the Festival of Vasant Panchami once in a while? And would it kill them to declare a War on Bahá’í Naw-Rúz now and then? Why is it always the Christian holiday that gets attacked in in these little pockets of Americana?”

Why, indeed, Fox News? It can’t possibly be because you are pandering to your equally uninformed viewers and trying to keep them living in fear of the Obama administration and those scary “liberals,” can it?

News Hounds also reported on another perceived threat by Fox, which they claimed was perpetrated by those evil “atheists” who want to ruin Christmas for everyone. Apparently, Santa Monica has decided, for the first time in 60 years, not to set up nativity scenes along its well known Ocean Avenue. Attorney Peter Johnson Jr. noted, sadly:

“A pox on all your houses, religion is going out the window, we’re not going to allow the First Amendment to prevail here and the result, in the public square, is that Christian and Jewish symbols will not be allowed to be displayed in Santa Monica.”

News Hounds also notes that Johnson chose not to mention a quote by Santa Monica’s deputy city attorney, who stated:

“The decision to ban the displays also saves the city, which had administered the cumbersome lottery process used to award booths, both time and money while preserving the park’s aesthetics.”

So Fox News chose to ignore the facts of the situation and scare its viewers, yet again. Color me surprised.

It gets better though: According to Tantaros, “This is the thing about atheists, they bully other religions, and they are just vehemently intolerant.” Really, Tantaros? Is that “the thing” about atheists? I’m pretty sure, first of all, that to call atheism a “religion,” in the sense that it can be referred to by “other religions,” is wildly inaccurate, not to mention, entirely self-serving for the hacks over at Fox News. But let’s forget that for a moment and focus on how atheists are “vehemently intolerant.” I don’t suppose anyone would ever accuse Fox News, or even, perhaps, Christianity, of being “vehementantly intolerant” of anything, right? (Barring of course, Fox’s vehement support of anti-gay organizations like Chick-Fil-A and other anti-gay actions it took in that vein.) It seems what Fox News is choosing to ignore is its own war on every other belief system, while continuing to direct all their network programming around the idea of intentionally scaring their conservative, Christian viewers.

Rolling Stone magazine has called Fox News “the most profitable propaganda machine in history.” For an organization which claims to be “Fair and Balanced,” Fox News has never been further from either.

Unfortunately, it’s a sad day for those of us that thought we’d dodge Fox New’s “War on Christmas” this year. Not only have they taken up their rabid fear mongering again, but this year, they’ve brought it back even earlier. I’d imagine the best thing to do, if we really want to enjoy our winter season, is to simply avoid Fox News altogether.
