How can you Leftists betray our country so?

GEORGE WILL reads about Nixon/Obama: This is the 40th anniversary of the Watergate summer here in Washington. "He has through his subordinates and

agents endeavored to cause in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, income tax audits or other income tax investigations to be

initiated or conducted in a discriminatory manner."
Section 1, Article 2, the Impeachment Articles of Richard Nixon.

What Baharhaha is trying to say is that Republigoons have been attempting to convince people something, anything , democrats have done is worse than Watergate for forty years now.

Watergate is a tough anti American crime to outdo though, Nixon has haunted the republican party since.

Comparing this to Watergate is laughable.

President Obama expressed anger Monday at recent revelations that the Internal Revenue Service targeted conservative non-profit groups for increased scrutiny during his first term. “If you have the IRS operating in anything less than a neutral and nonpartisan way, then that is outrageous,” Obama said. “It is contrary to our traditions.”

By traditions, he presumably meant the nation’s laws, which for decades have held that the federal government cannot target specific groups or individuals for tax enforcement without cause. But the IRS has a long history of disregarding this tradition.

For much of the post-war period, the agency has failed to meet its mission of neutrality, bowing to political pressure and resisting repeated attempts at internal reforms. On multiple occasions, it has become embroiled in scandal due to exactly the sort of behavior that senior IRS officials now admit occurred between 2010 and 2012.

If the IRS targeted these groups because of their politics then that is inexcusable. But this story just broke and we only have a few pieces of the puzzle so none of us, frankly, have any idea what he hell happened

Senator Heller and many others are joining in rejecting the increased monies to the IRS for additional agents until their behavior improves.. 440 million should be held back from the IRS over the deepening crap pile it is now shown to be.

It's hilarious to see the Republicans on the same side as the AP.

But I doubt any of them are laughing, because they seem to have no comprehension of irony.

well the Republicans have found another fake outrage to be wrong about, and it will turn out to F-them, not Obama.

Tax exempt status for Political groups is against the law, yet they think Obama's just being a big meanie when the IRS says no...

This may be the catalyst that overturns "Citizens United", and will defund many Republican groups, and their dark money/anonymous donations

Chris Hayes explains why Citizens United is the real scandal behind the IRS scandal

By Eric W. Dolan
Monday, May 13, 2013 23:36 EDT

MSNBC host Chris Hayes on Monday night explained how the Supreme Court’s controversial Citizens United ruling lead to the current IRS scandal.

The IRS on Friday admitted that it had targeted tea party groups applying to be social welfare nonprofits with extra scrutiny.

Hayes said the Citizens United ruling obscured the line between political organizations and social welfare organizations, such as the American Civil Liberties Unions and volunteer fire departments. Political organizations have been categorized under section 527 of the federal tax code, while social welfare organizations fall under section 501(c)(4).

“Citizen’s United said essentially any organization of any kind can spend money out of its general treasury to run political ads,” Hayes said, “and that decision brought about a pivotal moment for politics and taxes and campaign spending in this country and we’re still dealing with the fallout.”

Republican strategist Karl Rove and Democratic strategist Bill Burton used the Citizens United ruling to their advantage ahead of the 2012 elections. Both used social welfare nonprofits to run overtly political ads, allowing them to intervene in political campaigns without disclosing their donors. Hayes remarked that their example obviously inspired others to do the same.

“Suddenly, the IRS starts getting a flood of new applications from other political groups and strategists saying, ‘Oh, oh, it turns out I too want to set up a social welfare organization that just so happens to be focused on taking the country back from Barack Hussein Obama,’” he said. “Now, here is the thing the IRS appears to have done unequivocally wrong, that we all agree was absolutely inexcusable. They reacted to all this by targeting one part of the ideological spectrum in looking at whether this flood of new applicants passed the smell test. Being skeptical about a new wave of wolves in sheep’s clothing invading the nonprofit game was entirely appropriate.”

Republican Priorities

1. Win elections.

2. Fund Elections (even if this means turning Corporations into people).

3. Dissolve Unions to help the other party lose elections.

4. Reverse any change that will actually benefit the country, then blame the outcome on the other party.

5. Stifle rights and claim the other party is ‘big government’ to throw our voters off.

6. Pretend to care about “Family Values” to get votes and win elections.

7. Insinuate that the President is not American, and then claim we never said that.

8. Say “Socialism” as many times as possible to get the American public to believe it, when in reality it’s just a drinking game we created on behalf of Speaker Boehner.

9. Make sure people can only have health care if they can afford it.

10. Make sure people can only get married if they are heterosexual.

11. Make sure freedom of religion only applies to “Christianity”.

12. Make sure people can only have reproductive rights if they are male.

13. Tell people we are creating jobs when we are actually performing a “seek and destroy” mission so we can blame the current administration to win the next Presidential election.

14. Destroy the public sector so we can privatize and profit off of American citizens. All tax dollars will go directly into our pockets and the pockets of our corporate cronies instead of back into the American public system created by our founding fathers. (Including public schools.. Private Schools should receive tax payer funded dollars in the form of vouchers instead)

15. Tell people that for-profit health insurance companies have their best interest at heart even when they deny a cancer patient the proper care they need to survive. (There’s no profit in helping people) (There’s no profit in cures)

16. Tell average Americans that Wall Street is just like Main St. and they deserved to be bailed out.

17. Tell average Americans that billion dollar corporations deserve tax breaks because they will create jobs… (overseas).

18. Tell people that tax breaks for the wealthy will stimulate the economy… (even though they helped create the devastated economy because tax breaks aren’t free and it kept billions from being put back into the system that provided the wealthy the freedom to earn their wealth to begin with).

19. Burn all history books that show what got us into and out of the Great Depression in the late 1920′s and into the 1930′s and 40′s when the American dream started to thrive again…. we don’t want people to know the truth… they’ll never vote Republican again.

20. Grab Jesus as a candidate if and when he returns… even though it’s pretty certain he’s a Socialist, we don’t need to remind the American public of that. He was after all in favor of helping the poor, sick, and needy… and hung out with the least of these.

21. WIN ELECTIONS no matter what it takes!

what would the definition of a person that gets himself envolved in every fake BS outrage that turns out to be based on pure lies, hate, or ignornce

Stupid would be the first term, but being a sucker for all the inherent evil in this world? could it be that these people have fallen in with evil?

They forgot one:

22. Vilify intelligence, critical thinking, and the scientific method. By keeping the populace ignorant and uneducated, it is much easier to scare them into believing incredibly blatant distortions/falsifications, especially when trumpeted by multiple media sources all marching to the party line.

The Most Evil Man in America has some more lies for his followers to believe

Cheney: Benghazi ‘one of the worst incidents that I can recall’
By David Edwards
Tuesday, May 14, 2013 8:59 EDT

The man who was vice president during the Sept. 11 attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people in 2001 says that last year’s attack in Benghazi was “one of the worst incidences, frankly, that I can recall in my career.”

In an interview on Fox News on Monday, former Vice President Dick Cheney accused President Barack Obama and his administration of lying about the attack in Benghazi and then staging a cover up to hide the lies.

“They lied,” Cheney said. “They claimed it was because of a demonstration video so that they wouldn’t have to admit it was really all about their incompetence.”

“I think it’s one of the worst incidents, frankly, that I can recall in my career,” he insisted (??????). “If they told the truth about Benghazi, that it was a terrorist attack by an Al-Qaeda-led group, it would destroy the confidence that was the basis of his campaign for reelection.” (wrong, they did tell the truth from day-one, why are you lying?)

“They were trying to perpetuate this fiction that there was no terrorist threat because they got bin Laden and that’s a lie.” (no one said there was terrorist threat anymore, No one!)

Watch this video from the Fox News’ Hannity, broadcast May 13, 2013.
