And at least one purely religious Jewish organization, one not focused on Israel, was the recipient of bizarre and highly inappropriate questions about Israel. Those questions also came from the same non-profit division of the IRS at issue for inappropriately targeting politically conservative groups. The IRS required that Jewish organization to state “whether [it] supports the existence of the land of Israel,” and also demanded the organization “[d]escribe [its] religious belief system toward the land of Israel.”

Yep IRS also went after the Jews. And ANYONE supporting any of these various conservative organizations.. Getting thick and thicker. Which of course means campaign contributors.. Makes watergate look like kiddy porn.

for the EXACT same reasons i couldnt stand bush for a second term , Norton...

so now you say you could not stand Bush for his second term

and that is the SAME reason you cannot "stand" President Obama?

interesting

so can I assume that your hatred for Bush is the reason the did NOT vote for him?
and so instead you voted for John Kerry?
or did not vote all in 2004?

so, what is that "same reason" that caused you both to dislike Bush and Obama, Ron?

what is that one important reason, the same reason?

I truly believe that President Obama, OUR President of the United States of America, is doing one hell of a good job and could be doing even better (FOR ALL CONCERNED and NOT JUST THE RICH!!!) if the Republicans would quit doing everything UNAMERICAN they can, to thwart his efforts...

This great Country of ours is being slowed down and held back by backwards thinking UNAMERICAN fools!!!...

EDITED:

they should just SHUT THE FUK UP and get the hell out of the way...

I don't get what the repubs think Obama/Clinton is supposed to be hiding about Benghazi?

I also don't get why those women in Salem do not just show us where they are hiding their book of spells and incarnations.

It's a pattern with Republicans that's been prevalent for a long time:

Make a big deal out of something that is not. Keep pushing because the base reacts. Keep pushing some more because they don't have any issues of substance.

Then they start to lose face because it becomes obvious that they are reacting disproportionally. So then they have to keep running with it ...

It really shows that they don't have leadership capable of developing a long-term strategy. They are just a bunch of wannabes trying to one-up each other on the outrage scale.

Ron,

Do you know how many people work for the President of the United States?

It's conceivable that he doesn't get every detail in his daily status reports.

Dave,, of course the president is somewhat isolated. SOMEWHAT that is.

And i DID give him credit for seeming "outraged"..But in that vein, i certainly dont think ANYONE is just going to admit,, yeah i knew..Nixon didnt,, Clinton didnt, bush didnt..Faith is an earned thing. It erodes a chunk at a time.

IRS= ZERO faith at this time. And the investigations will now go on for a year to come. JAIL time is mandatory for those responsible wherever that falls.

The underlying premise is Obama is guilty. Of what, we don't know yet. Something. We just have to fling enough cow pies until one of them sticks.

They haven't managed to get anything to stick yet. I guess their BS is too dried up.

Issa used to be my congresman until the districts changed this year.

I'm disappointed that I cannot not vote for him in the next election.

It was the Karl Rove's group "Crossroads" and other multi million dollar laundering organizations like the Heritage Inst. that were filing tax exempt that the IRS were investigating!!!!!
This year, there were 3400 of them applying for same tax exempt status, and it set off red flags.
Political groups that are paying the leaders multi million dollar salaries.
and which means that our tax dollars are helping subsidize the Republican Campaign machine

Oh, and rong is outraged!!, along with all the other right wing morons,
they should be able to funnel all the dark money they Want to help elect their candidates, more than $500 million and still be tax exempt, right?

You will hear a rebuttal by Obama soon, telling us the truth of what's going on, and the IRS did the right thing into trying to shut it down.

Just remove the tax exempt status from everything, especially churches.
They're just a different type of PAC, right?

Tax exempt status should be highly regulated and be above board
there are some efforts that deserve it, but when it comes to politics, it should never be allowed

THOUSANDS OF APPLICATIONS

Each year the IRS reviews as many as 60,000 applications from groups ranging from charities to labor unions that want to be classified as tax-exempt. "Social welfare" groups dedicated to the general good can be tax-exempt under tax law 501(c)4.

These groups do not have to disclose the identities of their donors and they can spend money on advertising for general issues, but they may not endorse specific candidates or parties.

The U.S. Supreme Court's January 2010 "Citizens United" ruling unleashed a torrent of new political spending and 501(c)4 groups became a popular conduit for some of it, on both ends of the political spectrum, but especially for conservatives.

The number of applications sent to the IRS by groups seeking 501(c)4 status rose to 3,400 in 2012 from 1,500 in 2010. As money poured into 501(c)4 groups, campaign finance activists began to raise questions and demanded a crackdown by the IRS.

When did the targeting of Tea Party groups begin? When did it end?

A: According to a timeline compiled by independent IRS investigators, the IRS first began searching for Tea Party-related groups in March 2010. The policy underwent several revisions through 2011 and 2012 and now involves only organizations with "indicators of significant amounts of political campaign intervention.
