Just finished watching the smackdown...
The first hour was entertaining, but less than enlightening- they were both pretty much in their 'schpiel & schtick' mode, which I've seen plenty of in the past. It's fun, but didn't really step outside of their usual stuff.
The last half hour was much more engaging (the 'audience questions' portion)...they were more relaxed and genuine in their dialogue, and though they are clearly ideologically opposed, there was a level of respect for each others commentary that is so absent from today's political discourse.
I'm with Stewart about 96% of the time, but there were several points in the last half hour where I found O'Reilly to be spot-on. (It gave me the creeps.) In particular, at 1:07, and at 1:27.
A good time, and worth every minute.

Last night's show was particularly brilliant, the bit about Sesame Street was just too funny.

I know. That's a ridiculous thing to say about the GOP.
Why, then, is there a regular stream of such bullshit from the ExtremistRight®?

Indiana Senate candidate Richard Mourdock became the latest Republican to stir up controversy – and potential trouble for the Romney campaign – when he said during a debate that "even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that is something that God intended to happen."

The Month of Zen has been amazing. So great to look back at the old styles, correspondents and the issues of the day. I remember so many of these shows. It's like opening a time capsule I made for myself but hosted by Jon Stewart.

Stewart has been in interesting form these past coupla weeks...he's smelling the barn, and seems to be displaying a strong sense of 'I-don't-give-a-f*#k-itis' in every section of the show.
There seems to be a remarkable dearth of anyone out there who will eventually be able to fill his shoes. It's going to be a real bummer to lose him.

Ap, I think he'll return in a role even better than the one he has now. Such an important voice to call out the insanity that is the current Republican Party.

agreed, we may not get his voice of reason four days a week but as the clown car debates ramp up there's no way he stays silent.

Awwww, man....it's over.
Funny to see longtime Stewart rivals and targets like McCain, O'Reilly, Christie be able to show up and roast him a little...with a smile.
'Bullshit is everywhere.' That section struck me as Stewart's soliloquy on what he had tried to do during his tenure, and his warning for the future.
And of course, the Boss had to be Stewart's own Moment of Zen.
We'll miss you, Jon. Thank you so very much.
