We found you a Farsi speaking dual Iran-US citizen who climbs at least 10's the day after you took off... but it sounds like you're doing quite alright from your other half's facebook page: phone call from 14,000' in Tajikistan. Jim and Bo summitted an unclimbed peak in the Pamirs. New route 14 pitches, 5.10,A1. They're going shopping on Saturday in a market just over the border in Afghanistan. Great cell phone service, easy border crossings? Who'd have thought?

the great thing about getting old, if there is a great thing except the fact itself, is the precision with which our friends calculate our birthdays gets better as a percent of our age... what's 20 days out of 20,000? something like one part in a thousand, or a tenth of a percent... where else do you get something that close?
...if there is one piece of legislation I'd like to see passed, it's that our summer vacations remain the same percentage of our lives... when you're 5 and in school, you've lived 60 months, a 3 month summer vacation is like 5% of your age... it would be kick ass that at age 50 you get a 30 month "summer vacation." We should do this, the demographic is advantageous now to get this passed!

THE TYGER (from Songs Of Experience)
Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare sieze the fire?
And what shoulder, & what art.
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?
What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?
When the stars threw down their spears,
And watered heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?
Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

I was hearing from some of the clan as how you played yourself off as the old man. Back in the valley, early '70s...
I guess we now need to recognize truly that you are the Great Man and age has jack sh#t to do with it!
Just wondering cause I struggles to figure it out!

Why is the Donini/Lowe NIAD story being kept under such tight wraps? So what if it wasn't under 24 hours. It sure seems like it would make a great story. I'm hoping it's being saved for a great magazine piece somewhere - the greatest story ever told........or movie, or...... anyway, I keep searching and keep waiting, twiddling my thumbs and twerking away.
Even the stories leading up to the main event are worthy; the rockfall from the Muir Wall that disturbed one of the training days, Jim getting struck by another team's haulbag on another training day. We could have perspective by Chappy, and on and on. Bring on the ghost writers; Lauria, Robbins,.....
I had to go to an important meeting this week and had to get up too early. Just thinking about how badass Jim is snapped me into action!
