Saw the new Gatsby last night and didn't think it was too shabby. It's funny, as soon as Gatsby wanted to go fly his new floatplane my mind immediately thought I was watching Di Caprio as Howard Hughes. I really wanted to see some flight but they didn't go there. What a tease. And then Tom, Daisy's husband, yells out for WILSON! and I jump right in with Tom Hanks in Castaway. Gatsby really did keep me going.

Well, you'll have to be the judge, but Mickey Rourke thought it was going to be his great moment at the cinema.

Diner...
In one famous scene, Boogie's movie date reaches into the popcorn box on his lap and is horrified to discover his penis poking through the bottom of the box into the popcorn. To get an authentically shocked response, Rourke hid a dildo in the popcorn.
I can't tell who the woman is. I can't find the name of the movie they are watching, either.
Nita, loved that Laughton scene. It reminded me of these two slackers.
Molt and Metal.
Remember Glen Denny and his film debut in their yard?

The movie being watched is A Summer Place (Sandre Dee, Troy Donahue, Richard Egan, Dorothy McGuire, Barry McGuire, The McGuire Sisters, Al McGuire, Frank McGuire, most all of the McGuire clan)

Apparently this whole scene was improv by Mr. Murray. He was just supposed to walk down the walkway and then this happened....

hey there say, ... .
in marriage italian style:
i thought they did a great job of sophia loren, when she
THRUST the curtain aside(where her sneaky-long-term-man is
phoning his new-young-NOW-fiance, telling her that his live-in
gal is on her death-bed, but he will get BACK to her soon, for
the rest of wedding plans):
she POWERFULLY 'HAHAAAAA'S to him how she's up-and-at-'em,
and that they are NOW MAN AND WIFE, much to his shock and dismay...
also, later... great moments as to when she is told, under her trickery,
the marriage was void... strong stuff, though in quieter ways...

hey there say.... also... though, as to comedies, :))
DUCK SOUP:
THE OPEN THE OL' SAFE--but it's a radio--NOW on full blast...
so:
all that ensues, as the culprit tries TO SILENCE what will just NOT
be silenced, not matter what he does... well, that is until it is
chucked out the window, :)
the mirror-mirror no-more-on-the-wall scene, is A GREAT creative
moment, as well... fun, too... :)

Little Big Man is a great movie and an even better book. A monument of American literature, truly! Berger is highly under-rated.
