Those rats are really really adorable!
Everything about holidays is contrived. That they last one day only (generally). That they land on a particular day (generally). The rituals we do on that particular holiday.
So what?
Don't like the the standard holiday? Then make up your own. For instance, we celebrate Valentine's Day on our own date every year. I celebrate my birthday for more than one day each year. I completely ignore other holidays. We're grown-ups so we get to do what ever we want. :) So do what you want, but it is my wish that it involves smiles and love and happiness every single day.

It was not as exciting as the Dionysus/Bacchus festivals but heck... It did a mighty good second.

Miss Lynne, that is exactly why i Love sending Valentines to people.....The surprise,.... and wanting people to know > i appreciate them and was thinking about them..............I feel like a little kid when i send them out to friends and Loved ones...wanted to mail more, but ran out of stamps, cards, and time.

Sooo...for valentine's day (a day early) my wife asked me to go with her to a meeting on sexual conflict at the local biker bar...
Huh?!
Now how romantic is that!
And...to top the evening off I won the door prize...a copy of "Dr. Tatiana Sex Advice to All Creation". Can't get much better than that! ;-)
Actually quite an enjoyable and hilarious evening learning about strange and unusual genitalia, mating conflict and how it benefits evolution.
Guess that's what should be expected when one's spouse is a bio prof.!
