Listen, respect and accept. don't always have to be right, always don't have to agree and don't always have to disagree. I TRY to listen, respect and accept other peoples beliefs, views and opinions. Peace

Hey Ron! Been a while since I wore that blue shirt...

You're statement up there sounds good and all, and definitely a challenge in life, and reminds me of the song, "Why Can't We Be Friends? by War...but my question is, "Then what happens to my soul when I take my last breath?

That really is the question at hand...RIGHT NOW!

Make your silhouette small DMT, Norton, et al.

Was that a violent threat? Sure sounds like one. Cut that out. We are all adults here other than Werner.

Dude. Hopefully we can all live our lives without killing somebody over religious beliefs. Look at what the violence has done for islam. When you live your life believing that God is on your side, no matter what evil you do, that is messed up.

I strongly urge everyone to read the first chapter of the Koran. I was quite surprised at how violent it was. I couldn't handle it and had to put it down after 20 pages.

When I picked up a bible and read the book of Leviticus, I was quite surprised at how violent and intolerant it was, as well. Therefore I am quite relieved that BlueBlocker advised us to disregard it, as well as the first five chapters of the Bible.

Wait....that leaves us with this whole creation story from the book of Genesis. If I am allowed to regard the genesis story as allegorical, then I have little to complain about in the Bible. The new testament is very big on tolerance and love, particularly in regard to those less fortunate than us (I am assuming that nobody here has to worry about where their next meal is going to be).

Seriously. I won the vaginal lottery by being born into a functional white middle class family in the U.S. I wonder how different my world view would be if I had been born to a starving family in a third world country?

I wonder if truthdweller would have found Jesus if he had been born into a muslim family in Saudi Arabia? This is a fair question. It is pretty rare for somebody to switch to Islam after being born into a Christian family. That is why the demographics of religion are so obvious. Faith and values are passed on from parents to children, and so on and so on. It is less of a choice than you would think.

I wanted to circle back to the new pope post. I really don't follow all that old pope new pope crap. He's not MY pope after all. But I think it was fortmental or perhaps Dr. F who posted some of the changes in the old guard this new Pope is doing and it makes me feel like capitalizing the title again.

That Pope's all right... High Five!

Clearly you are not aware of God's plan for the US and it's chosen people. Only those He loves will be born and prosper in the US, all others will be born in some Muslim shihthole like Saudi Arabia, or worse, some socialist oubliette like Sweden where they will suffer their days taxed to death by universal healthcare and compulsory gay sex with lesbian fetuses.

God ONLY loves Americans and especially straight white unborn Christian American males, for unto them shall he bestow concealed carry licenses, extended cabs, jet-noise, and hydrogenated fats. All others will be born as sandal-wearing brown people, kinda like Jesus, but don't tell anyone else that.

I think if truthdweller finds comfort in his god that is a good thing. I don't believe he should stand trial for the Iraq war nor the sins of the rest of his religion. I was tweaking him over a perceived comment that was either my imagination or someone else wrote then deleted. When I realized how personally he was taking the criticism I apologized in the background and explained what set me off. He graciously accepted my apology and declined my offer to post it here. I am doing so anyway, in light of this morning's comments.

This man stood his post. Those of us who weren't there are not fit to judge what he went through. I'm happy he has found solace and peace. He served his country while the rest of us were sipping lattes and arguing bullshit right here on the Taco, real time.

So if I may suggest, stop blaming truthdweller for the ills of a world he did not create and the evils past of his religion. He doesn't deserve this treatment and I for one am very sorry for my part in it.

Quietly? He declined my offer to delete my offending posts and apologize and in so doing, he remarked he's already received far more than he ever deserved, and he meant that is a good way.

Lighten up boys!

Please?

Thanks!

Kill your child . . . [as?] he happens to hit you.

In Kendo (Japanese fencing with bamboo swords), when two opponents hit each other at the same moment, it is referred to as, "Ai Uchi." Each opponent receives one point in a three-point competition. The event brings great regard for both opponents in that they strike one another not one moment before or one moment after the other strikes his or her blow. It is considered very good kendo--and a zen / tao moment of perfect timing. After the tiger comes the dragon; after learning how to become a great warrior comes the challenge of learning wisdom.

Perhaps the greatest fencing display of all time pitted a wizened a 6th-dan against the only living 7th dan kendo master in Japan at the time. Kendo competitions are timed at no more than 25 or 30 minutes, and for that entire period of time, both masters simply stood facing each other in combat stances, waiting for the other to make a mistake. Not one movement was made for the entire period. Wu wei wu.

These days I'm Obsessed with the UFC. I don't see anybody trying as hard as they do in the world in the realm of fair sportsmanship. 110% body, mind, and soul! And more than half of them thank Jesus at the end of a bout. Warms my heart. And now they got women in it. Ronda Rousey is BAD! My 7yro daughter just got her yellow belt in Tai Kwon Doe. I didn't think there was any future in it. But Ronda jus signed a Multi Million deal. Daddy wants a new Porsche.

ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS’ NAME

1. All hail the power of Jesus' name!
Let angels prostrate fall;
bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all.

2. Ye chosen seed of Israel's race,
ye ransomed from the fall,
hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all.
Hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all.

3. Sinners, whose love can ne'er forget
the wormwood and the gall,
go spread your trophies at his feet,
and crown him Lord of all.
Go spread your trophies at his feet,
and crown him Lord of all.

4. Let every kindred, every tribe
on this terrestrial ball,
to him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all.
To him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all.

5. Crown him, ye martyrs of your God,
who from his altar call;
extol the Stem of Jesse's Rod,
and crown him Lord of all.
Extol the Stem of Jesse's Rod,
and crown him Lord of all.

6. O that with yonder sacred throng
we at his feet may fall!
We'll join the everlasting song,
and crown him Lord of all.
We'll join the everlasting song,
and crown him Lord of all.

Romans 10:1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

5 For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” 6 But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7 or, “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

...it seems this is just malarkey to everyone but to those who put their faith in Christ who is our KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS! :)

These days I'm Obsessed with the UFC. I don't see anybody trying as hard as they do in the world in the realm of fair sportsmanship.

Do you consider the long term health of the fighters (sacrificed in the ring of the gladiator) to be a component of fair sportsmanship?

Genuine question.

Do you think the UFC will be providing long term health plans to never-made-it fighters, 10, 20, 30 years from now?

I enjoy watching the UFC bouts but I don't kid myself - as a 'sport' there is nothing fair about it. Its a lottery and health is the gamble. All so that fat f*#king bald sh#t can make another zillion at the expense of young mens' health.

It is NOT fair at all.

Be honest now...

wonder if truthdweller would have found Jesus if he had been born into a muslim family in Saudi Arabia?

The exception, but possible...

During that seven months over in Iraq, I drank Chia and cafe with my two Iraqi interpreters, Ali and Safwan, and two contractors from Albania and Yugoslavia, Tefik and Islam. All of them were Muslim. At 2030 every night possible, I would spend usually three plus hours eating and drinking with them, and teaching English to Tefik. I would listen to Ali legitimize his bigamy and speak openly about the VERY LITTLE bit of Christianity I knew of and Ali's Islamic faith. This was prior to my position with Jesus Christ today.

Fast forward:

I stayed in touch with Ali and Tefik through Yahoo Messenger from 2005 (the end of my tour) to the present time when I received an alert from Ali when he came on line. We said the normal hello's and caught up as usual when I just "cut to the chase" and felt lead to ask him, "Ali, if you were to die today, would your soul spend eternity in heaven?" He responded, "I don't know."

I spent the next hour or so, showing Ali what the Word of God said about how you can be 100% sure that you can have eternal life, both through cut-and-pastes in English and Arabic translations of the KJV Bible. When all was finished Ali chose to admit that he was an inherent sinner that he could not change through works, that Jesus Christ was the Son of God that walked the earth as a human for nearly thirty three years, that He took the punishment, THAT WE DESERVED, for us, and that, by raising from the dead on the third day, He defeated death, aka sin (the act that we couldnt do), and the "free gift" became available to dwell inside Ali upon his asking. Ali, a (55) year old, born and raised in the Muslim faith from Baghdad, Iraq, got his name written in the Lamb's Book Of Life on that day.

Ali now lives in Deerborn Heights, Michigan with his ONLY wife Iman and his (21) year old son. I reunited with him on my recent 6000+ mile trip across the USA and back, eight years after leaving him at FOB Hit, Iraq in 2005. We shed tears when we hugged outside his house, wherewhich I spent two nights with him and his family, catching up, drinking endless pots of Iraqi Chi (as if we had never ended, in our hootch), and being spoiled by Iman's cooking! And most importantly, we endlessly fellowshipped on the Word of God.

So, although the exception, "Yes" a person's eternity can be transformed that lives on the other side of the world and raised in another faith his entire life. Glory to God!

Why?

Matthew 7:14 KJV

"Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

Luke 15:10 KJV

"Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth."
