It was Dr. F,
He was soundly being defeated by a superior ideology.

No Lois, I think your attempt to involve yourself as a central figure is just wishful thinking
More likely the doctor just felt it had run its course after some 38K posts.
But good try, twice now on this new thread, you just had to make it somehow, someway, about you and your own importance.

Norton equated Comrade F with LEB, Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
No doubt Dr. F blew a gasket, he's been taken away 5150 for sure.

I believe it goes after ten days. Either Dr. F managed some programming or it was administrative action.
I checked. 10 days.
You can page back through it but you cannot loop to the first post. That is gone. I would expect admin can either remove the first post or delete all entries. Would be a serious loss to us if it were deleted entirely.
At this point you can still find posts by Dr. F so he has not had all of his work deleted. It is also possible something more might be done when site maintenance personnel become available.
This has required an immense amount of work by Dr. F. I can imagine how tiring it must be.
I would like to express my gratitude for his contribution.
Thank you,

The one good thing about that thread is that it centralized almost all the political
posts in one place.
Now they will pop up new all over and piss everyone off.
I still think some kind of a separate forum for all non climbing posts would be good.

Norton,
I think you are correct.
How about we go about it differently this time. More along the lines you were talking about before Dr. F's meltdown.

Yes, having all political debate in one thread was best for everyone. I asked bluey to delete a seperate thread today.
hey, what do you think of my friends Eric Cantor and Kevin McCarthy?????

I hope you are right, Norton, but he really did seem upset to me for whatever reason. Like I said, I honestly thought you two were joined at the hip.
Honest to God, Norton, I was stunned out of my gourd when you criticized him.

let this new thread become the one for all the political stuff.
That way, I WILL promise to delete it by popular demand.

I still think my old idea of limiting the political posts by requiring one climbing-related post for every political or religious post was the right one. I have no idea how it could be enforced, but it would be a fine way to go. It recognizes that politics and religion are worth discussing, but limits the noise. How many idiotic political posts would Dr. F or SUAP have made if they had to contribute climbing value in equal measure? Damn few.
And now, Norton, do your duty and nuke this thread.

So he had to request it or there was a technical glitch pertaining to the size. Since he is not weighing in right now, I would say he requested it.
I program sites like this for work, so I can offer that it's highly unlikely to have been a technical glitch, and extremely unlikely to have been related to its size.
Can't say much about the request aspect, though.

Exactly, what do you mean by "popular demand?"
We should make our own Constitution. We can start right here, right now with the first annual taco political convention.
Norton, I nominate you be master of ceremonies. And, remember, we tar and feather people for mistakes.
:-)

I want to second what Stizzo said. I have a joke about putting all the email in the world on a thumb drive. I know it isn't true, but you would be amazed at how tight you can pack text.

Well Lois, obviously then you are wrong in that assumption.
It must be especially shocking for you as you have mentioned it twice now.
Deal with it. You were wrong. He and I only shared the same lever in the voting booth.
We disagreed on a number of things.
Very presumptuous of you to keep assuming you know his thoughts as to deletion.
You DON'T.
And Skip?
YES, I would very much like to see that also.
But I doubt that anyone would agree to give it a try.
