I love Fred, He's inspired me in so many ways. He's 88 years young today. For those of you in Seattle, tonight will have a birthday celebration at the Mountaineer's Club there.

Fred Beckey entered my vocabulary within the first few days of becoming involved with climbing and he has never left. I never climbed with him but I had a few friends who did back in the 70s/80s and the tales are endless.

Happy Birthday young soul!

Where hasn't Fred put up an FA? Inspiring individual, even if he is a little cranky sometimes. Here's to ya, Mr. Becky!

Heck yes!

Imagine starting your climbing career knowing you will be dirtbagging it well into your eighties. Imagine what that does to your contentment.
