right on Mr E... there are other modalities for intuiting spirit totems .. which ones have you looked into?
I have heard that the word "totem" is actually and Algonquin word for "spiritual guide." I know Jamie Sams publishes and teaches quite a bit about Native American spirituality but there are many other nations, cultures, tribes that acknowledge animal and plant totems.
