Belaying is not climbing. It is merely being an active spectator. Like a climbing magazine you can deck.

Went out for a sweet after work cruise and started a new tradition - Five Star Fridays. Perfect for the "offseason" here, where you can go climb a five star route with zero crowds after work...


Today's route? Triassic Sands, a classic 5.10 cruise in Black Velvet Canyon. We did the first four pitches. I had lead the first two (and only climbed those two) my two prior times on the route. Stephen and I were both psyched to climb the four quality pitches of the route...

Perfect temps with cool air pumping out of the crack made today more reminiscent of September than of the 104 it was in town today....
