Killer pictures!

When were the Dale Bard shots taken? I didn't meet any of those guys til I, the child, came sneaking down from Oregon in 77.

Thanks Peter!

Thanks Peter.....brings back memories. I'll be in the Valley for my first extended stay since 1976.....the whole month of May. Still have hair but it's grey and not as long.

In a way 40 years ago is no different than last year. When the moment has passed it's gone forever. That's why photos like this are priceless as your heyday really was the heyday for free climbing in Yosemite. Having all these players from the day in their prime caught on camera is so cool.I will always jump on any post of yours because it's sure to be pure gold-------line.

Peter, great photos. I loved climbing Seaside. It's off limits now isn't it? Along with the Peanut (great climb) and others on the Falls Trail?

Thanks, Peter, and thanks to those who bumped. I, too, did some early aid learning at Pinnacle Rock.

I could second Largo's comment, except that I realize I am old.

Maybe around 1985? Camped out at Doug Robinson's place in Round Valley. Dale had already built the plywood wall and had now set up a horizontal crack machine.

So he puts a tape (probably 8 track) in his panel truck and starts doing laps on this thing. It was like watching a ballet how he traversed that thing forever, back and forth and never touched the ground. When he came to one the end of the machine, he would cut loose his feet, rotate and do it again. And again. And again, ad naseum.

Wish we would have had digital then. It was truly impressive.
