Yes Hondo and Stanley are now on the 3 EC routes in a day. they started last night and did the nose in 4:17 they are most likely off the Salathe now and headed to Lurking fear if all is going well. I will be down at the bridge in a bit to see what I can see...

Update tonight on a special elcap report.... as of 3pm they were on the pillar of dispair... Nose in 4:17 Salathe 6 and change, Lurking fear.. still on it... the previous 3 in a day were Nose LF and West face by steve and Hans.. some question about calling West Face and "El Cap Route" as it is generally considered a grade 5 and this would be three grade 6 climbs... you guys can argue that one out...It is all good ...
Stay tuned

Wonderful!!

This recent stuff is getting to the point where it is completely foreign actually to the ordinary, even highlevel, climber. I am imagining, nonetheless, that it must be a sort of ecstasy for Alex and Stanley. I so wish I was young again (hah!--- and not 62!) and was a part of such an experience. I know that when you are at the peak of form, so many things that had been painful, hard and ever so burdensome, to tell the truth, have become easy, gentle gestures of nearly perfect understanding---- grace in its highest sense. One's whole body a fine instrument of this terrifying music. It looks like they are doing something better than 1,000 feet per hour maybe?

Over 80 pitches of steep climbing in a day. Quite proud!

I hope they do it!

Some guys will do anything to avoid working at Conrad's mom's.
Weed-wacking sounds waay easier though.

Ouch, with recovery time to my body and psyche, my times for those three routes would be approximately...

All Season!

How long does the descent take an experienced party like that?

BASE is obviously off-limits in the park (although I don't doubt that it has been used to get down from Half Dome on Dean Potter's linkups...) but does descending from the top take a significant amount of time in something like this?

Does that mean the East Buttress is dry enough to climb Pete. I thought you were retired from free climbing?

East Butt? Wha...? Hell, yeah, I'm retired from free climbing.

Oh, oh, oh .... now I get it. You misread my post, Karl - my ascent was 16 days and 12 hours. ;)

[So I troll this giant jointed Rapala with all these hooks hanging from it, and the very first fish hits it. Of course, I had dipped it in Ganges-flavoured scent]

I could do 3 el cap routes in a day. Pine Line, Gollum Right, and The Footstool Right.

16 days 12 hours... good one Pete. Easy mistake to make
Alex is a beast, he's making a mockery of El Cap! There I said it...
Haha...really though, 3 routes is an amazing feat! way to go
