in utmost respect for those valiant predessesors whom have traveled "our" 5.10 paths when only hexes and chocks interrupted injury; and when 5.9 was the logical designation for those routes that kicked our arse....
in utmost respect, charlie d.,
i challenge all, or some, would-be sailors to attain every 2nd, or 2nd and a half story balcony WITH A HANDRAIL, along Placerville's 1/4 mile mainstreet. i do believe there exists 7 or 8?
simple. juxtapose a path parallel to the miner's path, both hoss men and angelic beatrices':
climb onto the elevated balconies and bow to the traipsing patrons whom are upholding our's, yours and mine economy. smile to the POLE eese as they wonder upon your position among the stars???
5.9. no harder. the crux is a one arm hang, feet dangling above passer buyers, lunge to a 1930's electrical cord, it blows obviously!
regain, with a one arm pullup, traction unto yonder!
if you send ALL 7 'er 8, ill buy you beers until you stop me.

swheatheart, it is more defunct than gone.
the hangMAN proper is departed. gawd bless his soul.
but the metal skelton of the sign survives! though only rusty angle iron and decrepid wiring which are perfect to receive my hopeful grasp.

scout i clawed my way up.
up into the fardest reaches of those smoker's most hopeful glances!
i out-climbed their wafting columns of carcinogins.
they did not know what to think of neon charlie! perched within the hangman's tree sign, beaming confident life, and NO rope.
it is interesting to intermingle my notions with those of common understanding.
it's like gently setting el cap down in the lap of the meadow observer.
