Yesterday I found this little gem in a thrift store. I only paid a quarter for it, but would have gladly paid the original cover price.

Too funny, I know the author. Alexis is an old time Salt Lake climber/skier/enviro.

What a score! I haven't read it all yet but the photos are fantastic. And in the same vein as Smith Curry's traverse pitch, here's that pitch last week:

It hasn't changed much...still poor rock, still manky fixed pro, still amazing position.

No offense meant but enlarging just makes it blurrier.

"Sodom on the Mora?"

One click and my progressives lenses did the rest.

I'll give you 75!

Thanks for that.

OK, here's the gravy on the biscuit. The summit-log entry by these very same blokes:

Hopefully the .jpeg is legible. (Note, I've never been on Ship Rock. This isn't my photo, don't ask how I got it, but I got the OK to post it.)
Since this was a legal ascent back in the day, I don't imagine anyone will care if their name is posted, but if it's a problem, lemme know.

Wow, that summit register is a classic. I've driven by ShipRock so many times, soaring on the desert sea. It's on the tic list for sure.

Killer post.

Great mag score.

Our group was right around those pages in the early 80s. Very fun adventure that was.
