Mother Nature at work. That photographer does some nice work too!
The second photo in Dingus' post: that rock looks like it might have some routes on it, depending on rock quality. For sure it's got to be volcanic in origin. :-)

Bluering: I would say: Likely not. Erosion remanent of weakly consolidated lava flow = loose!
Anyway, drove last summer along some of Highway 1 (which circumnavigates this beautyful Island:

P.S. Iceland and the volcano Bįršarbunga is apperantly rumbling...! Hopefully it will either blow off now - or wait 2 months; I am travelling to The Valley for the AAC meeting in October, and cannot face cancellations as in 2010...!
