hey there say, all... well now, now i got me one, too... ;)

and thanks to DMT's 'how's your english' thread, i NOW got me a
befitting title for this ol' neighborhood climbing trip report...

however, NO, i have not been drinking... ;)

just, as you will see, the name does my TRIP justice, as
it is very very FAR-FETCHED...

however, i DO hope, a bit fetching, for those that are bored...
:)

SO HERE WE GO!

Well, first off:
Welcome:

Well, so it came to pass that me and pup-dog patty-ann-marie, set-out
for our daily walk--only THIS time, i thought we'd make it our trip-report
on "climbing in our area"... just in case folks needed a new place to check-out...

First-up was this, just barely downhill, from our house:
these first two pics, we are not in, yet:

Now as you will soon see, these previous "slab-crags", seemed to have slipped here, hmmm...wonder how THAT happened? Well, at anyrate, we get a
whole NEW climb here, next...
if you look careful at the lower-right
corner, you will see i enjoyed some fun here...

Patty-ann-marie, the ol' pup-dog, of course, was the
designated-photographer... *if you can picture that, i'm sure you can picture the rest of this-here trip:

Here is the sloped slabs, pic:

and now, just as we were to press-on down street, ol' patty-ann
got a hard look at THIS, and we well... well... to tell the truth,
we just had to change directions...

she was NOT impressed with this one, seemed it was too boring, i believe it was---however, we won't mention that the cats most likely would have loved it:

Now, as you MAY have noticed, there is a crooked-line, for to test your agility... if it IS too boring, this will add a bit of diversity, if you travel along said-line, as you climb...

course, this crooked line COULD always be a test to who is sober, still, and who is not...

all-in-all though, a great route for building stamina mentally, and for adding a whole new meaning to "boring"... ;)

Well, stay tuned, more to come!
and i know you are so very glad... why, climbs like THIS are sure hard to find, and hard to beat, huh?

Next, the BIG WALL!!!...
*please be patient, my computer uploads these very slow...

but....

i will be back!
:)

hey there say, all.... yeah, it's me... i'm back... :)

Okay here go, pressing onward into our trip:

Yep, the BIG WALLS... every climbing team at times, hopes to come
upon some... here is ours...

*Now, before we go on, i must confess this first:

Patty-ann-marie, being a dog, is not very secure in her filming and photography skills... thus, she has an aversion to photographing CLIMBLING GEAR... whether in use, or not...
so, sadly so, my gear is out of sight... you know as in "out of sight, out of mind" ???

Another reason why many of my climbs, i am doing from the opposite approach, so the gear conviently WON'T show up, out of respect for my dear climbing buddy... but, you all being climbers, can well-imagine the gear, i'd reckon... :))

-->>say, and feel free to relay how'd you map-out any of the climbs, :)

That said... here is the big wall, spring up to greet us!:

What a day, huh? Now, smile you all!
*If you look close, you may see just a bit of me in these pics!

*Edit: hard to see me in that little ol' niche, there... oh my!

Next up?

Wellllll, a bit of boulders, it be...

hey there say.... okay, moving ever-onward, kind of like a mountain stream, i reckon... *hopefully flowing in the right direction...

here now is the boulders:

RESUMING OUR NEIGHBORHOOD TRIP:

Patty and i found this neat little crop of boulders, kind of hidden in a cozy little nook... well, not cozy enough, perhaps, as it was out in the sun, and exposed just a tad, but there was a nice tree-line nearby and some "exotic plants" off in a corner...

Most likely that is why these boulders seemed so suited to the spot... the ONE boulder actually looked like puppy-dog... much to patty's delight, of course.... and it was even GRANITE!

As you can see... she just HAD to get in the picture this time...
*had to use the ol' self-timer, here:

First the little crop of boulders and then second the close-up of
the puppy-head rock:

*hope i remember the proper name, oh my!

Well, moving ever onward, still in "river mode" (though we actually traveled by sidewalk, i sadly confess, here) we came to these nifty boulders:

Patty had fun here, too... now, as you can see, these were a mite more precariuosly located... the dirt could well give-way on the front-sides, though the boulders SEEMED to be anchored well enough, so thus, the only serious slipping, would have been for hiking up to said-climbing spots...

First up:

Last here, until the next post:

more to come... past the boulders, now...

hey there all, say.... NOW... here comes what every hiker or climber loves to find.. a real large treasure, upon the horizon...

tons of rocks, all in one compact spot, just waiting for one to
explore them all...

HERE'S THE CHUNK-BLOCK COUNTRY PARTIAL-WALL type climbs, NOW:
*for lack of a better description...

Here are some hightlights, in close up...
First, at one of the cracks...
a view from BOTH sides...

And lastly of this section, before we move on, is:
The far end of the wall had another small section:

Next up? ... we shall see... we are more than about halfway done, now...
and

it was a FINE day!... birds, sun, plants and ROCKS!!!!

hey there all, say....

CONTINUEING ON:

okay now... on our trip, that day... we traveled up-hill now, through the boulder areas....

we did see this, off to the side, near the lake:

just an old tower, perhaps something one may want to envision climbing...
hmmm, by rapunsel's hair... oh my!

Next, we having patty suddenly deciding its play-time and not boulder-climbing time:

Yep, we left this one, alone:

As you can see now, though, we started to move into a bit more
rougher terrain... and more uphill, still, too, hitting
the ol' "tree line" one may say:

It is now time to step up into the stepper hills again, but just for a bit...

See you soon!

hey there all, say, well, the ol' trip is much harder to do by computer, that is for sure...

hours later, here i am--think i could have redone the whole trip, again, by now... :))

MOVING UP HILL A BIT NOW:

Can you see me through the weeds?

See if you can find me, scaling the upper left-edge, or, so to speak:

Well, rough mountain hills lead down, once again, as some of these ol' trails that we take, side-saddle each other and thus we go up-and-down hill, quite a bit... always with odd interestings "flat lands" in between and neat things "around the bends" ...

such as,
a roughh-and-smooth "combo climb",
with the name, under the picture:

Well now, we kind of stumbled upon what i call,
EASTER EGG NEST...
a group of colorful boulders...
good for friendly competitions, perhaps:
--->for two guys and a gal, on one set...
-->or for two gals and a guy, on the other...

(pastel blue, for the guys... pink for the gal...)
and visa-versa...
(pastel pinks for the gals, and blue for the guy...)

*being that its easier for the distant crowds, to discern who is on which
rocks, during competion:

Well, leaving these behind, we now approach the home stretch...
see you there!
:)

hey there say, paulina... thanks... say, now you all know how and why ol' chappy got the hankering to climb... our imaginations worked over-time, as kids... :))

we were always wondering how to tackle our surroundings in a new and creative way...

it even spread into my one brother that designs... i reckon ever house he sees, he wants to redo... and every rock we see, we want to climb...

well, since i only hike, i AT LEAST do imagine the climb, taking even these "mini rocks" and making them a large adventure... :)...
:)

well, back to the last part... every report needs a finale...

hey there say all...well, it's been a long night...

oh my! what some folks won't not do, for to put-up a trip report...
like, not go to bed all night... :)

LAST LEG OF THE JOURNEY:

Here we stopped in at the "walls", again... seems there was a whole "garden" full of them, some even displayed in rows! ...though all far apart enough, to be a good climb, in their own right... hmmm, you knoow, these are made-to-order, near as if bricks for building, one may say!

A brittle wall, though, only skilled and knowledgable folks dare try this--who, me? ...ooops:

A clearer view of the climb, behind the first one:

This manmade climb... the FAIRY-TALE FLOWER BULB WALL, as i call it, kept me very busy, in the shady side, TRYING to tackle it as a boulder (not a wall)...

i did however get this above-picture of patty, after i had finished...
seems she'd had her fill... coundn't STAND it much longer, so we hit the last climb:

Now when she saw THIS... why, she took off running for home!
Reckon we will have to climb it another day:

Well, yeah, i was a tad disappointed, but one MUST respect one's partner, even when one's partner is a dog... but, i DID manage to sneek this in really fast... (hahahahaahha, used a ladder!)...

Sure enough, too... no sooner was i down, than i realized patty was back home, without me!....

And here is where i found her:

Well, i'd say that was the end to a perfect day, but...

there remained ONE LAST THING...
AND i just couldn't let it go unchallenged...
well, at least for one small try...

*see conclusion....
in next post...
(suspense, you know... )

:)

hey there say.... CATS!

cats! oh my... yep, CATS!

Seems they think they know it all, don't they... oh my, but we still just love them, don't we... :)

WELL, THIS IS HOW THE ENDING OF THE DAY, FARED:

And, i still have not quite figured this climb out, as to how these ol' cat do this...

i'd venture to say that they climbed-up the OTHER rock-route (off to the side) and took a FLYING LEAP, over to the top... but then cat's don't fly, do they, they CLIMB.... (or so these cats want me and patty to think)....

Hmm... well, yeah, if they DID take a flying-leap, they would have slid across that ol' slick surface, right?

AND?????? SO?????

Hmmmmmm... well folks, what can i say? ...turned-out i took quite a few walks around that strange silver rock, 'til ol' patty called me in to feed her....

and you know... we never DID see how the ol' cats
got DOWN, either...

oh my... climbing trips... for those of strong body and spirit,
or so i reckon... :O

thanks for reading...
god bless...
:)

and--happy climbing... :)

hey there, say, nutAgain! ...

every time i went on that walk...
(and still go, when i can, as i moved a few blocks away) ,
well, EVERY TIME i see those rocks, i CONTINUALLY imagine what it would
be like, if--

they were giant sized, and we could climb them...

must just be in 'the blood' i guess, as to the curiosity about rocks...

:)

and-- since i had no trip report... hee hee, well, there you to!
(did not put it in the REAL trip reports, of course, as, sure didn't
want to mess things up, that way) ...
