The deacon of clean married Mimi and I back in 2009. We rented several houses in Foresta to accommodate friends and family. After a lovely evening BBQ I asked Doug where he wanted to sleep...inside.

With a smile he pointed at the ferns and "threw down over there".

The following day at the reception, my godmother Marcy Wrenn took stock of Doug's stature and demeanor and asked plainly "Are you aboriginal?

She had spent some time making pots down under and felt the DR vibe.

Doug said "no but yes" and once the laughter died down he was beaming.

Thomas, the book is not anywhere near published and available. Don't wait yet. He has been doing final stuff on it and showing it to some of his old publishing friends to get their reactions too.

Loved the Abo story. He does look a bit Abo but is actually just a nice white boy from Los Altos of Northern European stock. He is over on the East Side currently.

Maybe someday climbers will be considered visionaries and will win a Nobel prize or have their own exhibit in MOMA or the Met or better yet cure a disease, until then we are nothing more than a bunch of geologists prancing around blowing smoke up each others ass.
