Original, No...I'm just a Porcupine. That fits my prickly personality just fine.

It's too bad that this idea of a t shirt rattles people so much. It seems harmless to me, but I did not know Yabo. So, I propose another t shirt.

Howzabout "Derek says, when in doubt, run in out."

Of course, you'll first have to get my permission, because I knew him longer than any of y'all, climbed with him for many years, and know his parents (only his mother is still alive). For the record, my length and girth surpass yours'.

Also, I will expect that 10% of the proceeds go to Eldorado Canyon State Park, and 10% of the proceeds also go to my beer fund.

I will negotiate terms.

Remember... it's all...

Now, for all the playa haters... a shirt you can wear with pride! Honor the man. But first, let's make sure all is explained so no one gets their thong sucked in too tight.

The photo of John is by Errett Allen who has given full permission to use it. Here are the actual words from his letter to me.
Simon

Cool. I’m happy to let you have the image – Yabo Lives!!

The lightning Bolt is based exactly on the bolt that is on John's vision, Midnight Lightning. I took the photo many a year a go so it may be slightly different now. I have given myself full permission to use the image as long as it is worn with $300 jeans.

Why orange and black? John and I went to Los Gatos High School together and our school colors were orange and black. Besides, those colors go well with $300 jeans.

Yes, the image is temporarily superimposed on the model's shirt. So, no it is not the absolute finished product. I still need to get this artwork printed. I haven't been able to go to the printers because I don't have $300 jeans.

The font used was purchased by me so I have full rights to use it.

No mountain dogs were harmed in the making of this original design.

Yes, you can use the YABOLIVES coupon to purchase this shirt but only from today until I wake up Monday. Just enter YABOLIVES during checkout.

Here is the shirt:

Here is an angry dog:

I did a seach for "Coz" and these guys came up. Don't ask me, I just found it. (NOTE: Not sure the second one is a guy. And... don't stare too long at the first one!)

These are some expensive jeans:

Jeans that were not expensive enough:

No jeans, but I like these photos.

I found this under Caucasian Mountain Dog.
Of course this one is way meaner than ours.
At least his girlfriend has a good grip on him.

These shirts are, at best, an inside joke apparently only some insiders even get. Anyone else, why would they want this? You might try something more universal for fundraising...

To the dog of the mountain...Love dancing. Do they have a polka club there in Tahoe?

Like the discussion, not much for the dog fight banter.

And don't like mothers being brought into c*#k fights.

Especially Survival's. Mountain Dog, maybe you should apologize.
I'll take two Yabo shirts in whatever form they come in...

Met J Y a handful of times bitd. Got to know J B in the last year of his life. Know J B had some ideas and concepts about a clothing line. But he had for quite a few years. Just never pursued it to make it really happen. At least that's the take I got.

As far as making coin to survive in these days.....I doubt either man would fault bros for trying to make ends meet and survive. We ALL should be pulling together. Hey, when we are dead and gone what's really gonna matter, helping bros or sitting back and criticizing ? jess wonderin'. lynnie

Werner puts it in perspective. Thank you.

Now, what was that question about capitalizing on the dead? Perhaps funds for photo usage are going to John's sister?

I am not sure what all the fuss is about. Perhaps the saying is not completely out of character. I was hanging in JT one winter and Yabo needed a ride into town to pick up a check form his parents. I gave him a ride into town and he bought me lunch. A few years later I was marooned in the Valley with absolutely nothing. I called my girl in Santa Cruz to come rescue me. She shows up four hours later with no wallet. We are hanging in the parking lot trying to figure out what to do, Yabo wanders by and I tell him of our plight. He promptly says I'll get you some money and he starts walking around the parking lot shaking down various climbers for a few bucks. I don't remember if he told me to relax, but it is not out of the question.

Never before published , not so good photo of Yabo on the right O'Kelleys Crack.

Your bump will help move them Sue, Simon thanks you!

Simon, thanks for pulling out an otherwise embarrassing thread out of the mud with those pics up there, as usual, Werner showed up talking sense like he always does. As in, whats the problem. If someone don't like the shirt, don't buy it.

We need a Werner shirt, front: "WHAT'S THE PROBLEM" (Spoken loudly of course:-).
on the Back, Ouchs cartoon of that great pic of Werner soloing Reeds above, Fires and tube socks, modified with the Twinkies to his ear and Bear 46 reaching out to grab them from him:-)

Oh, link: http://www.shop.vershke.com/category.sc?categoryId=3

Simons daugher, obviously NOT a Dolt.

I have the Steve Gropp Hollow Flake shirt which you donated all the profits to Yos. Climbing Assoc., but I haven't gotten up the courage to wear it yet. I wanted to thank you for doing that, I sent Ken Yeager some money directly as well. I really appreciate his work to preserve the heritage of early climbers, and your support of him was a nice reminder.

How about doing Polypro shirts instead of cotton, it rains in Oregon ya know:-) (look outside yer window)
