Y'all ain't seen stained glass til ya seen Skip's!
I've seen a lot and this is the best there is, period!
Just a warning to those of you who have been exulting
on the Ken Kesey thread: the last few shots could cause
serious flashbacks!
I lost a long time today staring through the viewfinder!

Whoa man...

Da REALLY COOL door!! Awesome woodwork Reilly. It looks bitchin'.
Nice to see some good pictures of it.

I pulled out my Tiffany reproduction glass for that one. The Tree-trunk and ground are salvaged bits out of a demolished
125 year old window that is now in a shoe-box in my garage. Nice to recycle them back into a living window.

I've got a few new things finished this month. I just learned enameling, so I've had the kiln running for the last week or so
making cloisonne. I'll dredge some pics up if anyone is interested.

Enamelwork: Sorry the pictures are way larger than they are in real life.

I just started doing this for the first time about 3 weeks ago. I'm trying to take up an art form that doesn't fVck up my health so much.

My first project: Center in 2" by 2" We've been framing them in leftover bamboo flooring.

2nd project: 5" by 5"

Screwing around making jewelry pendants and a duplicate of project # 1.

Bluebird: 2" x 2" A miniature copy of a portion of a full-sized window I built. Doesn't have a frame yet.

Yes, lead. She got poisoning a couple of years ago, as well as a general health deterioration from the lead and flux after 20 years of doing stained glass.

Cloisonne is clean by comparison.

I've got a number of health issues from stained glass which is why I don't do full-time commercial or production-work any more.

Chronic sinus infections, chronic skin problems- reactions to soldering flux (which prevents me from wearing a respirator), worsening allergies and very abnormal memory-loss issues for my age.

Dirtineye actually badgered me for years to try enamel-work and I'm finally doing it.

Beautiful work! I love your style, Skip.

And all the best to you as you find ways to unleash your creativity without jeopardizing your health. Looks like you've found a great path to explore.

Years ago, I switched to using non-toxic finishes for all of my wood art and carpentry projects. Can't put a price on your life.

Weird, wild, and very nice to look at. More impressive after hearing what you have gone through to produce. Metal poisoning can take time to eliminate and heal. My admiration and sympathy.

I love to sit in the living room and watch the people walking by while

The jury committee for Dicken's shut me down on jewelry and enamel-work. Without the Christmas venue available for direct sales I had to stop production. It's just too difficult to sell online only.

I'm not sure if there is a connection but it was coincidental to notice a huge stained glass window on the front of a church I go by every day after looking at these pieces by JusttheMaid. I never noticed the 25 foot high stained glass window before! I may have seen it but I didn't really see it.

Hi JusttheMaid, I didn't notice you right there next to me ^^^^^^^ :>) Nice work!

I want a full-face photo of Mister E so I can turn him into a stain glass image that Skipt created. With edits of course.

Love them both. Extremely fun pair. Terrific pair!! Great wedding as well and then we retired downriver to take stock of the situation.

First me them in Joshua Tree during the Flanders Fest et al. They had their first micro-trailer then and were grooving with it.

It went from there!

It is amazing that Skip puts such effort into the costumes for those selling venues. The dresses are magnificent, and I can imagine the people who buy her pieces really appreciate the experience. The glasswork becomes even more special, when they have a personal connection with the artist.
