I have swung a duece hammer since 1988 and the weight and design cannot be beat. While the mc-d an interesting design, the A5/D5 package is the best for drilling and pounding iron in my experience.

We just have to make some straight flute, non taper, high speed steel 3/8" bits for the desert and 5/16" for granite (and get RAWL to make more split shafts).

anyone see the rawl 2 1/2" x 1/4" split shafts on ebay? Want to split a box?

Powers makes some. But what's interesting is that the pictures shown here do not show the same product, despite them both purportedly Powers manufactured.

The Fixe ones I've heard are not reliable.

Just missed one on Ebay. I planned to bid on it but forgot to.

I didn't and it's on its way. Looking forward to comparing it with the A5.
