Good Friday evening all from the Lake Placid craft brewing company in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State, where in the Eastern Time Zone the beers always start sooner.

Here await the impending arrival of a skinny ass ginger-haired Irishman, Padraig, who becomes more and more Irish with each beer he drinks. And Ben Dover Maxfield from Maine if he ever gets here.

Rumour has it that a first ascent of what might be the hardest Aid crack in the Northeast is about to go down.

In the meantime, we Ponder the differences between an Adirondack chair and a Muskoka chair. I knew, but Anita didn't. But you Californications wouldn't know what either one is if it landed in your portaledge.

So we're at the pub, and Padraig shows up. And they're playing Irish music live, you know, with the Fiddler and the guitar and all that?

Anita: "Hey Padraig, you're Irish. Can you do the Rain Dance?"

PtPP and Padraig look at each other in confusion.

Then Pete shouts, "Not rain dance! River dance, you moron!"

Muskoka, Ontario - cottage country just north of Toronto - has both the Daks and the East-Siders beat when it comes to chair design.

Speaking of the Daks, I am back at Anita's just long enough to grab ...

.. my climbing gear, then I am back to the Daks for some ffffff.......

.... that kind of rock climbing where you actually touch the rock with your fingers?

Sans Anita.

Drinking a leftover Yuengling Lager, America's oldest brewery since 1829. Which begs the question: "WTF did you lame-ass Merricans DO for drinking beer between the time you rebels left the Commonwealth, and 1829??"

Oh .... I KNOW .... you LOST the War of 1812 - to us Canadians!!!! Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ahha-ahh-ah-a-ha-h-ah!!!!11111

I'm drinking a Penfold's Shiraz Cabernet decanted from a platypus at Bon Echo Provincial Park in Ontario, awaiting the arrival of a certain 514 girl.

We're going fffffff....

I'm going to try fffffff...

That kind of climbing where you actually climb the rock? What do you call it? I've forgotten.

Hmmm... he replies. You will have to be a little patient.

It's Friday here and I'm glad I was reminded.

I will have a beer. Or as my son said when he was a toddler: "mommy's drinking a beard".

Friday night on El Cap Waterfall Route drinking Jameson's Irish whiskey and English toffee cappuccino ... We named it an Irish Car Bomb.

Thought we were going to die two nights ago, when an unforecasted storm dumped the full force of Horsetail Falls on us. While my two partners were fighting for their lives, I was warm and comfortable and completely dry under my new John Middendorf D4 fly. Worst I've been hit in over seven hundred nights!

Unbelievable. What a fabulous product!

Cheers, Deucey!

I'm raising a glass of an average Zinfandel tonight to Pete and friends being safely back on the ground,
and to all my other Supertopo friends who are at Facelift.

I just got back from a week of climbing at Red Rocks. Had a great time there with Supertopians Andy Fielding from the UK and with my regular partner Paul aka Urizen.

Be safe everyone and keep your eyes and ears open for those pesky caduta massi.
