i hate it,
(and i don't hate often)
when the last sip of your beer
misses it's mark and pours
just left of it's your gob
and trickles down into
your collar,
absorbing into the
neck-flesh so when
your sweety goes to hicky you later
she ends up drinking
expired swill,
which kills the pheremones that
are my ticket unto the
sensual circus,
and instead of clown activity
we both go to bed pissed
because one of us is a under-accomplished drunk
with bad aim.

a little rain & forecasts for the same ----and/or snow in parts of Idaho.

I'm sticking close to home.

I looked at Yosemite weather & things look great for this weekend, with a little cool-down in the middle of next week. http://www.climbingweather.com/California/Yosemite-National-Park

I'll toast to you Cali fokes-----and Donini!!!---- enjoying your blessed weather.

Slurp!

I have been driven to drink by the:

Chomsky calls for Obama's trial on terror charges (OT)
thread on ST.

I did get some bouldering in today on the Ranchette, and the weather is a real mix in our area for the Holiday weekend.

I am committed to exploring for Petroglyphs in our local hills on Sunday -------and I just know it is going to snow, since that is what happens in the Northern Rockies on Memorial Day Weekend.

Oh----Heidi and I are outside a bottle of Rodney Strong Cab & working on another.

Best wishes for a great Holiday weekend of fun!!!

I'm very drunk, but intend to keep on drinking. Just finished one of my most difficult teaching years ever. I had thought that after Jack died, I could just got back (after the cluster of last year) and be the person/teacher that I was before. Turns out I was very wrong. It was very difficult on a nunmber of levels....plus I had to have back surgery. I don't know......this loss of Jack has rocked me on so many differnt levels....I know I faked my way well through this school year. My kids seem to think I did great. But I know I sucked....I felt emotionally not there a lot of the time, and brutallly hung over more times than I'd like to admit. Not a good space to be in, but thankfully, it's ALL 0VER FOR THE yEAR!

A glass of Byron Pinot last night to celebrate today's rest day. Spidersavage - We're headed to the Parade. Love those mules!

Pam - Congrats on getting though a year of work and "faking it" sucessfully. Hope you have a summer of health and healing and happy times.

Fritz - Good call on advising me not to head to COR for MDay. Sounds like the weather is not optimal for climbing. It's beautiful over here in Bishop!

Pam: Best wishes to you from Idaho. I know you have had a very-tough time in the last year. I hope your life improves.

Phylp: COR weather has been very uncertain of late. We keep wanting to go down there, and it keeps being cold, or windy, or stormy, or all three. Today looks like a pretty nice day there, but the rest of the week looks mostly miserable.

Fritz and Nita,
Thanks for the cyber hugs! Last night was champagne (celebrating the end of the school year), wine (drink of choice), and a little bit of Pisco (my friends had never tried it, so...). Still, woke up only a bit fuzzy to a beautiful day...summer vacation!!! Hiked with my bestie and our dogs, then played a bunch of tennis in a clinic. Now trying to rummage through some of Jack's tents to a)see what I have, and b)pick the best one for camping next week. Nita, thanks for your advice. I am fortunate to have wonderful friends (a few of whom are widows also) and I DO visit a therapist occasionally when I feel the need. Nothing is insurrmountable. It's just that in this climb of life, some of the pitches are offwidth grovel-fests instead of splitter finger cracks....just trying to get to the belay right now!!! :-)

Seems we missed a Friday night. My wife is out at her book club. My daughters are watching CSI episodes on the computer. My boy was helping me in the basement and racing slot cars with me. He's now playing video games and I'm drinking beer.

Pilsner Urquell (I had to read this letter-for-letter off the car to spell the name of the beer)

Hope everyone has a nice Friday evening.
