My usual non alcoholic brew for the evening. Been busy creasing my SAR uni for a dog-and-pony show tomorrow. Basic heli ops training, yay fun.
Weekend plans include a 15 miler in the desert to look for an F86 crash site from the mid 50s I believe. Have good coordinates and I'm hoping that the remote location has kept the worst of the part pilferers away.

Greetings from Mammoth Cave, Kentucky!
Several beers, some really hideous root beer liqueur that was left over in the fridge, and some OK Argentinian Malbec, in honour of the new pope.
Virgin booty awaits tomorrow. Yesterday we squeezed through a tight slot to emerge in continuing passage ten feet high by two to three feet wide with excellent airflow heading into the great unknown. About the only drawback is that we'll have to explore and survey while standing in mud and water. Where does that air go?
It's hell in the karst. I think I need another beer...

I visited Mammoth Cave when I was a kid! Isn't it the longest continuous cave system in North America, or something like that? I think it stretches for about a thousand miles.

As they say down in Kentucky, it's the longest cave system in the whole en-tar world!
Just over 400 miles of surveyed passage, and if I have my way with it tomorrow, it'll be another thousand or two thousand feet longer!

Afternoon outside today & plans for this weekend of "spring clean-up on the ranchette and getting the water system up and running.
A little red-wine from H3 Vineyards & just opened a bottle of Cline Mourvedre.
We are celebrating our one week anniversary of being back from Chilean Patagonia visiting "El Jim's" Bivy site on Largo General Carrera with our wonderful host & guide "La Angela."
So------if I post our trip report on the TFNPWDP thread----maybe it will not go to ST post oblivion as soon as a post on “the frenzied forum?”

Peter! What a question? It is an Ancient Vines 2010 Cline.
Very slight fruit bouquet----and drinks like a very slightly sweeter Merlot.
I saw it at our beloved Boise Co-op wine store------an oasis of wine in our Idaho desert------tried it----and Heidi gave two-thumbs up.
