Thanks Roy, good reflection for this day, the only day we really have.
"All that we suffer is all that we are." Yep. Realize more and more how true this statement is.
The good thing....when we run into those suffering new, fresh loss or challenge (doesn't necessarily have to be bad, your mountains indicate the exhilarating challenge of adventure....tho we may suffer somewhat attempting it.) We can encourage those in the process and cheer them on. Peace, Lynne

Happy Holidays Everyone !!!
This is my version of a holiday card to be sure.
(I’m feeling well all in all Fatty; thanks for asking, and I wish the same for you & for all our pals here on the forum)
Billy Corgan’s spiritual meanderings tilt eastward.
I was listening to this particular tune “suffer” as I was tuning my skis for yesterday’s ski tour, so I had it in mind.
Following that particular spiritual theme was the notion of “piercing the veil”,
(the bridge as well is a time-honored allegorical symbol for many spiritual traditions)
Because in a more whimsical tact, this is what I was attempting to do on this particular tour,
You see, the last time I attempted to view that rather brooding north face of Paiute from Upper Coney Lake Cirque,
All but the frozen lake was veiled:
Mission accomplished I’d say!

Buff Elting’s pastel interpretation of my initial encounter with Paiute’s North West Buttress,
Seen from a thousand plus feet up and a bit further north on the divide:
(I first viewed Paiute’s Northwestern arête from the Continental Divide,
And even then the full extent of it’s elusive North face was hidden from view and partly shrouded in cloud)

the images perhaps even more than the words
it's hard and backwards to push people toward a point of view but if you put something good in front of them, they will take it from there, according to their own inclination
there was quite a moving interview of Victor Wooten on the radio the other day
