Mucci - what a nice photo. Here's a couple more, one's from a fuzzy frame in a movie that was too short to post but shows her having fun. Sorry if it's too fuzzy. Another had to be cropped down.

Sounds like she was a great gal.
I'm sorry that you lost a friend.
It's been a HARD season for that sort of thing.

She looks like someone who truly loved the mountains.

Why does seeing that she partook of the pools and the climbing at LE make this hurt all the more?
And I didn't know her, but knowing that she also obviously enjoyed these favorite haunts...

You left too soon, sister Ishun.

Nate,

She was a really really sweet girl. She spent some time this summer up at Gray with us.

just catching on after a few days off the grid. i'm moved once again by tragedy and loss. also by the gathering of souls to remember, consider and honor. thankyou for introducing me, in a postumous fashion, to someone i only met thru you.

the pathos never seems to stop here. in this place it's a blend of all the emotions we have capacity for. as sad and empathetic as i am for the loss on the part of those closest to ishun, i also hear the salutations to a kindred spirit who knew how to spend the precious moments we are given to romp and revel and inspire reflection.

cherish the act of sharing time in this painful yet serendipitous place. too soon, too hard, too sweet the memories

There will be a funeral service on Saturday. Sean is kinda worried about publicly announcing the event but if some of you would like to attend, let me know by e-mail. I will send the details. It is at 4pm. It's in San Jose.

We are still doing the Climbathon on Sunday at Castle Rock State Park where we climb in memorium and have a toast. That goes down all day. The location will be divulged on Saturday.

Kev, good idea about the route name. I'd like to help you finish it off in Ishun's absence.

I have been touched by the love and friendship the climbing community has expressed toward Ishun. Ishun was lucky to have you all in her life, regardless of whether it is many years of climbing together or simply the sharing of passion in climbing. I hope that those who know Ishun are able to attend the funeral service.

Ishun would have been thrilled to know that a route will be put up and named after her, and I can image that she would have been nodding up and down with foremost approval. If possible, I would like to be present and document the climb.

The climbing memorial on Sunday will go down at Castle Rock State Park. I'm thinking that Shady Rock /Platypuss is a good area. It's got a high concentration of routes and she liked it there (that where some of the pics were taken upthread).

Cal Ridge and Mud Wall are close also. My crew will probably be there around 10 or 11am. We'll probably stay in that locale all day.

Carpooling is advised as much as possible because parking can get tight after 11am. If it does get tight people can park at Summit and shuttle together down to CRSP.

Be there!

I went on a hike down Cherry Creek Canyon with Ishun in September. It was the first time I'd met her, but she had a wonderful spirit and energy. My deepest condolences to her friends and family.

Somebody asked me to post this here. You can upload photos of her there also. The family would appreciate it.
