depends on your goals. and resources.

rich meyer (from shasta mtn guides) runs one (free) in berkeley as a fundraiser for shasta avalanche, has a ton of schwag, and sells $5 raffle tix for the schwag pile(s). first year was lightly attended, but this year, i think > 100 showed up, and many bought raffle tix. but you need the space and the schwag.

berkeley is full of dirtbags who'll show up for free and then drop $20 on schwag tix, or beer, or whatever.

Hi Aaron,
Would you come up to Santa Rosa and do this for our climbing organization?

Sure. The winter calendar is getting pretty full but drop me a line through the MAS office and we can work out the details.

Cleo,
I can offer $5 off to anybody who mentions SuperTopo at the door. Plus I have a couple of lift tickets from Bear Valley to give away ($59 value).

I would stop by in Stockton but I have duty at a high school baketball game. Hope you get at least a few people there at REI. Good Luck you'll need it in Stockton.

Yeah Stockton is an experiment, but if you don't try ...
Plus it's a lot closer to my home (Bear Valley)

I may stop by if the game gets out early enough. At least you don't have to worry about chains or snow on the way back. You should do something at Bear, Sunday night so I can get out of the cabin.

How may showed up in Stocton? The REI there is so empy all the time. Not many in Stockton do outdoor sports for a town that size.

12-14 people. I agree more people in the lecture room than the entire store.
