We are excited to launch the AAC book club! As a project of the American Alpine Club Library, this book club will focus predominantly on the vast scope of mountaineering and climbing literature.

The book club will meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every month starting on February 10, 2009 !!! We will meet in the AAC Library in the basement of the American Mountaineering Center in Golden, CO. No refreshments provided, so please bring your own beverages. All beverages must have a lid. Come early and browse the library or just hang out.

Feb 10th: 1st book to be discussed: Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson !!

BONUS for AAC book club members only – Get your book signed by Greg!

Volunteers Elizabeth Feary and Jim Moss will facilitate the discussions to keep everything lively and interesting. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Elizabeth dedicates her time and expertise to projects enabling nonprofits to work smarter and more efficiently. At one point she worked for The Aspen Institute from which organization she gleaned her intentions to moderate hearty yet enjoyable discussions. Tuned to mountaineering literature, she is excited to expand on the cultural, conservation, and adventure based ideas that stem from these books. Jim is a Co-Founder and still a Judge for the National Outdoor Book Awards (http://www.noba-web.org/);. Jim is the Author or co-author of 5 books and is currently working on a textbook on outdoor recreation law. Jim is an attorney specializing in outdoor recreation law, teaches for Colorado Mountain College and reads.
