from the Yosemite NP website. Photo taken 5/16.
"The May 1st snow surveys showed that the Tuolumne River basin's snowpack is at 179% of average and the Merced River basin's snowpack is at 187% of average for this time of year."
Flooding doesn't surprise me.

guess that parking spot might open up after all.
Too bad it will be up the truck's floorboards with water.

Luckily, Karl has a much better managed parking program at his place. There are only 2 rules:
Rule #1: Karl shall have a good parking spot.
Rule #2: See Rule #1.
Just kiddin', Karl. It's so fitting for this situation to develop just after the latest Valley parking thread.

from the top of HCR on saturday, we could see that there is still a ridiculous amount of snow up in the highcountry, especially for this time of year. i don't know much, but i'd guess you can expect a chance of flooding in the valley anytime the sun comes out for a few days in a row (see the forecast for next weekend), and that chance will exist at least until hwy 120 opens for the summer (maybe the 4th of july weekend?).
good year to be a boater.

Until the water recedes from the roads. All the roads are at this point underwater at various places.
