Two massive boulders supporting the wooden platform under the generator crack cut loose and crashed into the river last week seconds before my wife started up the route. We lost a rope (6 or 7 core shots as the largest boulder rolled over the stacked line) and some toenails. We walked away counting our blessings. The now unsupported wooden rail is still there but not supported as before. Some of the smaller rocks on the hillside may also be loose

Does anyone know how hard the seam is 15 ft to the right of the crack with a bolted anchor just short of the top of the wall?

Its really more cost effective to sacrifice virgins; girls go to Hawaiian volcanoes and boys go to Iraq.

We've already sacrificed enough boys and girls in Iraq!

Geez, after Sean Jones 'mishap' bouldering, I thought this thread was going to be about a rattler in Generator Crack.

Glad to hear it wasn't and glad to hear that you and your wife survived relatively unscathed.

Rich, I echo SteveW, here's hoping your son comes home safely.

Hello Sausage King,
Shes fine, more upset about the rain day than the near miss. We raged this trip. Good times with Steve.
You leave a piece of yourself there, in the valley. And hopefully, if your lucky, spend a lifetime getting it back!

Awesome. When are you back in the Gunks? We haven't climbed together since that day you put a rope up on Classic and I couldn't remember who the hell you were...

Maybe you should sacrifice that goat BEFORE you fly!
