It depends on whether you are counting ascents or different people who have freed it. And it depends on whether one person has to lead every pitch free to count it or not. Either way, it's pretty cool to be able to do it - very few people will ever be able to do it.

My husband and I heard the same rumor from my bro a couple of weeks ago that the Violence King had freed the nose. Any one talked to him directly to confirm it?

The thing I love most about climbing is that there are these mysterious hardpeople lurking here and there and nobody's ever heard of them.

Although in the mucky places the signs of previous passage can often be found, I also like the idea that people climb interesting stuff and no one else knows about it. So when you're there (or imagining being there, you don't really know if you're adventure (or fantasy) is original or not.

Seen a Pataogonia pic of yours. Limestone boulder, big peaks in the background, some pebble wrestler high on the boulder..

Where is it?

Sounds like a bunch of pitches were freed, but not all.

I guess I jumped the gun on this one, but that's how rumors go.

This thread will self destruct in 12 hours.

A bunch of pitches freed? For anyone with a serious bid, there are really only 2 to worry about.

Am I off base with that thought?

Violence King...wicked good moniker.

Cheers
