Ammon is in the Valley hanging out with friends, drinking beer and having a good time . . and much too modest to spray even if he was online. So I'll do it for him . . .

On Monday / Tuesday this week, Ammon and Ivo climbed Native Son in 23 hours and 53 minutes - a new speed record and the first one day ascent.

Congrats to both!!

That makes El Cap climb #49 for Ammon.

Ammon is a hard, hard man. Nice send for the two. They definitely cut the one day ascent pretty close.

Big congrats to the guys. I was talking with them up there Sunday and they were pretty stoked for it. Glad to hear they got the magic under 24 hr mark.

Man, I wonder what feat of magic he's going pull off for his 50th EC ascent.

Does he get all that beer that was promised to Pete? Haa haa, he could probably be talked into it.

He has a couple of interesting ideas for #50. Since he is a man of action, I'll let him do it first, then I'll tell you about it.

isn't it interesting that Chris Mac was on that route just prior to the 'send? Is that just coincidence?

Well as one of the potential beer donors, I would donate to ammon for his 50th on WOS...That would be cool. I offered up to pete cuz well, he seems like an underdog. Good send monkeys

Lambone, Mac was hired by John Dickey to fix ropes for a Climbing Mag photo essay. No funny business.

Great job Ammon.

So, what the magic number 50? It should probably be memorable for you.

In Lambones defense, I don't think he was talking stank. Just curious that's all.

Maybe I'll run into you this weekend. I start the journey from Seattle in ten minutes.

Goodbye WA rain!

So the weather is good eh. WHHHOOAA big granite, big trees green meadows, and water water every where. The valley beckons. I personally want to go for the slowerst solo ascent of the prow. If you call I will allow you to do a photo shoot, ohhh yeah baby.

Proud jump into the season Ammon. You may have an addiction, do you have a 6 month no climbing chip???

Ivo, leading The Wing pitch (6th) on Native Son. We lost all but a half a gallon of water on the 5th pitch. I let the pig rip and it hit the corner just below El Cap tree. Water came rushing out the bottom immediately.

Ivo asked with some concern, "What are we gonna do, Ammon?"

I replied, "The monkeys are going to be a thirsty one". Ivo laughed and continued climbing. We were indeed very thirsty.

The Reticent..... in a push. Tomorrow we will start in the late morning or early afternoon. I will be climbing with Ivo and Dean Potter.

The monkeys are going to get WORKED. Haa haa haa!!
