Perhaps a new line of work Juan. How about a fiberglass Old Man on Cannon... New Hampshire...while your at it, someone stole the pipe from the pipe pitch. Think you could get that replaced?

Oh yea...and a replacement of the bush of Bushy Ledge at the Leap (so confusing).

Before it fell, or after? Please if you do this make sure you engineer it so that it does not seem in any way superior to the original. Not stronger, better friction, etc.

If you are talking about the Arches, is that log still there?

Did that climb in 1973 and the darn thing looked like it wouldn't last much longer.

I think it was '81 when I did it. It seemed truly marginal. I recall hearing about it's demise. Anyone remember when that was?

I lifted it out of it's groove and told my partner, here it goes.

You'll need to make it out of styrofoam if you want to authenticaly replicate the texture it had.

And that was in 70 or 71

I plan to bolt it to the wall.

Will need some help hauling it up as it will probably weigh a few hundred pounds.

Could you install a soda machine up there while you're at it?

Wonderfully eccentric goal.

It needs to creak, vibrate, and flake away as you climb it.

See Supertopo - Yosemite Valley Free Climbs.

On page 129, according to Steve Roper, the log "finally parted company with the rock in the spring of 1984."

It was 25 feet long and one foot thick.

I know it was there in 91...I remember climbing on it. I wasn't offroute. I have only done the climb once, are there more than one log?

Hmm, normally I like my routes to be free of 'rotten logs' left by climbers, but in this case I will make an exception.

Senor deFuca, you have my full support.

Boy, I thought there would be a lot of pics of the log.
Yes, in EB's and a Willans harness.

The pic was from 1976. I recall it was my first climbing trip out of Kansas City and was told to be sure not to put any slings on it for pro just in case it fell away when I was on it!
