Part of the climbing experience, is how you look while climbing. The fashion statement you make, can greatly enhance, or destroy your rep in the climbing community.

I am going to leave Lycra for another thread, and will focus on favorite t shirts.

I met a dude in the mid '80's named Bruce Pottenger (sp?), who made some bitch'n t shirts under the Kinnaloa brand.

I bought a bunch, but they have all been destroyed. Anyone here got picks of them?

My favorites were the falling body, dude shooting self in head, and Ray
Charles Weenie Roast.

Here are some that i still wear:

The original Hardman. When people see you coming, wearing this shirt, they definitely know you are badass.

I moved to Boulder, to become a "real" climber, and lived in my Westfalia for a few months until i moved indoors. I first stayed at a RV park/campground up Boulder Canyon. The owner of the park did not find this shirt funny.

I bought this t from some kids on spring break in HVCG. It was the season i "discovered" Bearded Cabbage. Can't recall what year.

I wear this one, when i go to a new area. Keeps the tough guy locals from messing with me, cuz that don't know who, or wtf i am.

Whatcha got?

Bruce Pottenger made some classics - thanks for remembering, zip.
have not seen him since like'92?
hope he's doing well.

Bruce was a motivated guy
and was fun to go climbing with.

the shirts of his that I remember were, of course:

"this ain't no weenie roast"

and

"I don't care what you think"

Jerry Moffatt wore one.

those were fun times...

thank you.

About those skeletal reality shirts...When might they see the light of day, again....

I wore one (maroon/red) under a vintage rugby shirt on the first ascent of Lucille. Talk about mixed, though related metaphors.

And what better item to complete the Kinnaloa ensemble, but a Frog prussik gear sling.

Yep, i still use it, and i know it is 24 years old. I am not cheap, but it works, and when something better is made.......

Jaybro, when I get set up I will be happy to "recycle"
any Skeletal Reality t-shirt art you like sir.

will just send you the file, no problem.
I believe you made this motion once before
and I forgot or was swept up by yet another
personal nerochemical imbalance :-(

zip - thank you, Gerby showed me his prussik adjust gear sling once,
wonder how many walls the thing has been up?

now, let's get back on topic before I get all misty...

anyone out there got the Kinnaloa "I don't care what you think" shirt?
there is a story there.

thank you.

I think the only time i ever put this one on was when my mom would visit, and nag me.

"When are you going to stop trying to find yourself, and get a career?"

The " Climb Lubbock" one must have been a collectors special - Sand dune with a chunk of barbed wire and a 6 foot soaring splitter cactus on top of it!

I saw a great one that was popular around Frog Buttress, Queen'sland, Aussie: If a shy, innocent and kind Canadian climber speaks in the middle of the 'ghastly blank' where no climbing vixen from Boonah can hear him - Is he still wrong? " Had a great profile of Australia Mt on the front with a Canadian flag annointing it and an a prediction that a first non-vegemite ascent was pending.
