The size of the lie is a definite factor in causing it to be believed, for the vast masses of a nation are in the depths of their hearts more easily deceived than they are consciously and intentionally bad. The primitive simplicity of their minds renders them a more easy prey to a big lie than a small one, for they themselves often tell little lies, but would be ashamed to tell big lies.

“Naturally the common people don’t want war. But after all, it is the
leaders of a country who determine the policy, and it’s always a
simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy or a
fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.
Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of
the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are
being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and
for exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every
country.”
--- Hermann Goering, Hitler’s Reich Marshall, at the Nuremberg
Trials after World War II.

Ever notice that you never see Obama and Hitler in the same room? COINCIDENCE!?!?!
Some might say that Hitler died in a bunker before Obama was born. I would tell them that it sounds AWFULLY CONVENIENT.

Skipt,
Not everyone in the Government is bad. There are those who do their jobs honorably and serve and want to do the right thing.
But there are definately those who use their positions of power for personal gain, and corruption, and have no qualms about shredding the Constitution and Bill of Rights in doing so.

The VA is government run health care. For many it is good. Depends on the location and the veterans experience. Here in San Diego the VA is very good from what I hear.
The USPS is government run. They seem to be doing a great job. I would hate to see the USPS privatized.
The US government at times can do things really well. It could do so much better with really good leadership and oversite, rather than with the roberbarons that came through the front door. Hopefully, the Bush/Neocon years never happen again ever. What a nightmare.
I'm not 100% happy with Obama by a long shot, but he is worlds better than Shrub.

Skipt: If you think conspiracy theorists are the property of any given party you're really pretty dumb. You strike me as someone who doesn't actually take the time to talk with people of opposing views and learn what they really think. You are one, like far too many on both sides of our political spectrum, who are content to simply believe that the "other side" is simply made up of the caricatures presented to us by propagandists.
The fact alone that you would admit "some" are bad makes me extremely worried that as guinea pigs out here in the hinterland we would ever want these bozo's anywhere near ourselves and our families health care.
There are "some" (actually, MANY) "bad" doctors, nurses, health insurance executives, etc. etc.. What does that really say about your logic?

"Read the bill.
The current healthcare bill is a disaster."
It is a disaster, and this is coming from someone who passionately wanted to see real reform actually happen.
It is worse than weak sauce- it is a complete capitulation to the corporate insurance and Big Pharma lobbying interests. It's not hard to discern this, just follow the money. The insurance and pharamceutical industries strongly support the bills that are moving through Congress..why? Because they were written expressly for their interests.
Forced mandate? Check. Beneficiary? Insurance industry. What if you don't comply? Fines. Like, say, $1900 worth. This is America?
The Dems are a bunch of panty-waisted wimps who can't even take a Super Majority and do anything with it. You know what would have happened if the Repubs had the same Super Majority 2000-2008? I'm getting nauseous thinking about it.

Skip,
You are retarded when you say "the same people who believe 9/11 was an inside job are the same people who want universal health care". If you made an exact opposite remark, you'd be closer to the truth. You really don't get it, do you? In fact, it is they who don't trust the government with either the "official" version of the events of 9/11 or to take care of their health problems.
