It's getting to be that time...

Let's see your backcountry ski photos.

I'll start.
I took this near Alta Peak, west side of the Sierra just before the Tablelands, at the beginning of the Sierra High Route (the ski route, duh).
This was around 11pm, full moon...

Cool. I've never been out back country snow boarding but that looks awesome.

Where are those pics, not the Yosemite ones. They look familiar.

Edit: Nevermind. Rock Creek, Mammoth. Duh.

A few from a chilly late winter ascent of Casaval Ridge and then a couple more from the summer solstice corn harvest on the Hotlum Wintun. So much fun.

I learned how this year for this trip...

heading up into a whiteout

lovely conditions

working for it

point success

heading down the Emmons Glacier and really wishing I was a better skier.

only 3000 or so more feet to descend.

It was well worth it. I suffered in so many ways.

Damn! Those are super good. Love the B&W of Picture Pk. You get around!

Everyone else...keep posting - cool here today. Already had a winter dream or two in the last couple of weeks.

Remember. I ski. You ski. Whiskey!

Goes for all who glide.
