What is wrong with cross posting the same write up to multiple sites? Some guy named Dan posted a nice TR about Jubilant Song, his first trad multi pitch experience which went epic, on here RC and MP.

For this he was called an egomaniac and instructed to just cross post a link. The dude who called him an egomaniac and told him to look up "Hubris" most likely didn't even read the post because it was not at all arrogant. What is the difference between a link and the full write up? If you already read it on another website then don't click on it here, pretty simple.
I for one do not like to click and go to another site and think that if you want to multiple post have at it. Anyone else care to chime in.

I think someone pissing about such a thing has a bigger problem than hubris. Maybe they should look up their own life and see what in it is making them lash out at others so quickly!
It has never bothered me to see the same post pasted in various sites. People often don't click links, mainly because they don't want to go over to another site. "Link" TR's, and really any type of topic, just don't get the response that a text in the post one will.
I often will read the responses of such cross-posts on the various sites. So - Cross-Posters are all right in my book.

What is cross-posting?
Is that like a guy doing yoga in a leotard.
In either case, or cases: there's nothing wrong with it.
I generally don't like links, I prefer the full jalopy front and center.
I also see no problem with posting the entire story on several sites: I for one don't go to other sites, so I am happy to see the whole enchilada right here, right now, even if it is also available for review over on .... um what are they called, mountain projection and rockclimbing.prom

It was too bad to see that Dan felt he needed to pull the first post with the complete TR after criticism, but he did come back and repost the link in a new thread. Not the warmest welcome to the supertalko ever, and for someone bringing a worthwhile TR.

not sure what the deal is... cross posting, who had time to do it, or time to detect it?

and Dingus, be careful not to cross post, even if it is from rec.climbing...
you have to create new material with minimal cut-and-paste
be creative (I probably don't have to say that)
